	answer	answer is ministerial correction answer text <p> </p><p>Food labelling rules are harmonised in the EU and require that food information shall not be misleading. This Government has pressed for better information for consumers during negotiations relating to food labelling in Europe.</p><p> </p><p>Food businesses are ultimately responsible for ensuring their products' safety and accurate labelling. However, Government departments and agencies back this up with more than 80,000 risk-based checks per year.In addition, Defra develops validated testing methods under its Food Authenticity Programme to check whether a product has been mislabelled or contaminated. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction answer text <p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Under the Postal Services Act 2011, Parliament gave Ofcom, as an independent regulator for postal services, the primary statutory duty to secure the provision of the universal service.</p><p> </p><p>Parliament has given Ofcom the regulatory powers and tools it needs to intervene in the market if the provision of the universal service is ever at risk.</p><p> </p><p>Given its statutory duties, it is for Ofcom to monitor and assess any impact of postal competition on the provision of the universal service. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction answer text <p>The Government conducts regular assessments to identify risks to energy supply including through the National Risk Assessment and National Security Risk Assessment processes. Government works closely with the supply industry and other stakeholders to ensure there are appropriate mitigation measures in place to strengthen resilience and to protect against risks where it is possible and value for money to do so. For example, supplies of power, gas and fuel across the country were robust to the major flooding earlier this year (though power supplies to flooded properties must be disconnected for safety reasons).</p><p>Further, in the event of a situation which threatened to disrupt energy supplies to customers, Government and industry have robust plans in place to manage and respond to such events, which are exercised on a regular basis.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> question first answered 30/06/2014 12:49:09
