	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/06/2015 answer text <p>It is difficult to estimate the amount of asbestos that is present in the Palace of Westminster and on the parliamentary estate because asbestos materials of various types have been widely used (often concealed in ducts and voids, and buried in the fabric of the building) over the years. Before the dangers of asbestos were known it was used extensively in building works due to its strength and resistive properties. Extensive surveying has been undertaken to inform Parliament’s management of asbestos and robust controls are in place to cover checking for the presence of asbestos and the safe execution of works.</p><p>Parliament’s Asbestos Management Plan complies with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and follows Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance. Risks associated with asbestos-containing materials are managed in line with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974. The plan is reviewed annually and has been independently audited.</p><p>Each presence of asbestos is judged for removal or management in situ on its own merits, in line with best practice and HSE guidance. All staff in the Parliamentary Estates Directorate undergo mandatory training in asbestos management which provides information and advice about the dangers of asbestos, including asbestos-related diseases. Contractors and their staff are also required to undertake this training, or to provide evidence that they have done equivalent training. The death penalty undermines human dignity and there is no evidence that it works as a deterrent. We continue to remind the Saudi authorities of our views on the death penalty at every suitable opportunity.</p><p>We continue to strongly believe that we are most effective when we discuss human rights privately in some countries. This is the approach we are following in light of claims that Saudi Arabia intends to execute over 50 people convicted of terrorism offences, which the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/03/2017 answer text <p>We are reviewing the report and its findings, but our position remains that individuals who have been found not to need protection and have exhausted all legal avenues in the UK are expected to take steps to leave the UK as soon as possible. If they do not, we will seek to enforce their removal.</p><p> </p><p>The Immigration Act 2016 (‘the Act’) includes measures to remove incentives for migrants to remain in the UK where they have no lawful basis for doing so.</p><p> </p><p>However, failed asylum seekers, including failed asylum seeking families may be eligible for ongoing support while there is a genuine obstacle to their departure. As now, what constitutes a genuine obstacle is expected to include non-receipt of a travel document or a medical reason why they cannot travel. Following the declaration of famine, the Secretary of State for International Development, my Rt Hon. Friend, the Member for Witham (Ms Patel) announced a £100 million package of emergency assistance that will help to provide vital life-saving nutritional, health and livelihoods support for the people of South Sudan. Together with our international partners, the UK continues to pursue every opportunity to call on all parties in the conflict in South Sudan urgently to cease all hostilities, ensure humanitarian assistance reaches those who need it most and engage in a genuine, inclusive dialogue. Multilaterally, we are lobbying for support of a UN arms embargo, and continue to support the imposition of sanctions against those who would continue to block the path to peace. The tariff table, which sets out the rate of payment according to age at diagnosis, is based on an average of similar payments made under civil compensation.</p><p> </p><p>The Impact Assessment published in March 2014 estimated that £93.7m would be paid out by the Scheme in the first year of its operation, and £412.4m would be paid out over the first 10 years.</p><p> </p><p>Initial application volumes were lower than anticipated so the amount levied on the insurance industry for the period 2014/15 was £32m. It is too early to estimate what the application volumes will be over the next 10 years given volumes received to date. As this is a demand led scheme, the calculations for the levy are done afresh each year. This requires the centre to have a documented process setting out how children born from mitochondrial donation will be followed up, where the patients have consented to follow-up. These should include long-term medical follow-up of the children born.
