At the start of 2017/18, the UKFIU had the equivalent of 81 full-time staff. star this property answer text <p>Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) have a statutory responsibility to provide services that meet the needs of local populations. If there is evidence of CCGs limiting prescriptions, and therefore rationing care, the Department expects NHS England to ensure the CCG is not breaching this statutory duty.</p><p> </p><p>Treatment and prescribing decisions should always be made by clinicians based on patients’ clinical needs. It is a matter for NHS England, working in partnership with NHS Clinical Commissioners, to support CCGs to use their prescribing resources effectively and deliver best patient outcomes from the medicines that their local population uses.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership commissions, develops and manages the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCAPOP) on behalf of NHS England.</p><p> </p><p>Currently, there are five cancer clinical audits including breast cancer in older people. The newly established NCAPOP partners group will look at opportunities to review the audit programme based on audit commissioning cycle opportunity and eligibility criteria related to alignment with National Health Service priorities, like the forthcoming long-term plan for the NHS, impact, value and need.</p><p> </p><p>NCAPOP is made up of a rolling programme of audits commissioned at different times on a 3-5 year basis.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The clinically-led review of standards was announced by the Prime Minister in June 2018. The review is considering the appropriateness of operational standards for physical and mental health relating to planned, unplanned urgent or emergency care, including cancer.</p><p> </p><p>The Long Term Plan provides a platform upon which innovative models of patient care can and are being developed. In that context, the National Health Service’s National Medical Director has been working with the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, Healthwatch England and many others to consider what matters most to patients, on the clinical issues with the current target regime, and what NHS staff believe will help them provide the best quality care for patients.</p><p> </p><p>The review will report its interim findings in the spring of 2019, after which any recommended changes will be carefully field tested across the NHS.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department does not centrally collect the information requested.</p><p>Public sector organisations in scope to meet the public sector apprentice target provide data annually to the Department for Education on numbers of apprentice starts. DFID continues regularly to consult our stakeholders on the impact of the UK’s exit from the EU, including on eligibility for EU funding. The Withdrawal Agreement confirms the entitlement of UK organisations to participate in current EU programmes for their duration. Under a future partnership, any UK financial contribution to EU programmes would require eligibility for UK entities to bid for and implement relevant programmes.
