The Government has already published a collection of material to support public and parliamentary assessment of the deal. unstar this property answer text <p>I can confirm that the application by Nissan for £61m of support was scrutinised by the Industrial Development Advisory Board.</p><p> </p><p>The role of the board under the Industrial Development Act 1982 is to advise my rt. hon. Friend the Secretary of State and make independent recommendations. Only if the Secretary of State wished to act contrary to the board’s recommendation (which was not the case with the Nissan award), he shall (if the Board requests) lay a statement before Parliament. There is no obligation to do so when he acts in accordance with their recommendation.</p> more like this

Over 99% of the UK’s solar PV capacity has been deployed since May 2010.</p><p> </p><p>We are now consulting on new proposals for a Smart Export Guarantee to support future arrangements for small-scale low-carbon generators (including solar power generators) to receive payment for the electricity they export to the grid. My Rt Hon Friend, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced at Autumn Budget 2018 that the Government was freezing beer duties for the second consecutive year as beer makes up close to 50% of pub sales. Many pubs are also benefitting from the business rates retail discount, announced at Budget 2018, which cuts bills by one third for retail properties with a rateable value below £51,000 from April 2019, as well as wider reforms and reductions to business rates.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Daesh now holds just a few square kilometres in the Middle Euphrates River Valley. The Global Coalition assesses there are currently not enough Daesh fighters remaining in Iraq and Syria to make any further significant territorial gains. However, Daesh has dispersed into a cellular structure in order to maintain insurgency activity.</p><p>Daesh has also attempted to build a global network of affiliates, branches and sympathisers, the strength of which varies country to country. In many countries, Daesh's local network will continue to pose an enduring threat to regional stability. It will likely be limited to terrorist-type activity due to concerted counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations and competition with other militant groups.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Charity Commission for England and Wales has confirmed that for the past three years a total of 12,708 charities with a declared income of less than £1.5M have been removed from the Register of Charities</p><p> </p><table><tbody><tr><td><p>Year</p></td><td><p>Charities removed: income less than £1.5M</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2016</p></td><td><p>3,856</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2017</p></td><td><p>4,069</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>2018</p></td><td><p>4,783</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p> </p><p> </p><p>One reason for the increased number of charities coming off the register of charities in 2018 is that the Charity Commission undertook a proactive exercise to remove charities that no longer appeared to be in operation. <br> <br> Overall, the number of registered charities has grown in the last ten years from 160,500 in 2009 to 168,200 in 2019. Applications for registration as a charity have increased by 40% in the past 5 years, reaching a record high of 8,375 applications in 2017-18.</p>
