unstar this property answer text <p>I can confirm that the application by Nissan for £61m of support was scrutinised by the Industrial Development Advisory Board.</p><p> </p><p>The role of the board under the Industrial Development Act 1982 is to advise my rt. hon. Friend the Secretary of State and make independent recommendations. Only if the Secretary of State wished to act contrary to the board’s recommendation (which was not the case with the Nissan award), he shall (if the Board requests) lay a statement before Parliament. There is no obligation to do so when he acts in accordance with their recommendation.</p> more like this

Over 99% of the UK’s solar PV capacity has been deployed since May 2010.</p><p> </p><p>We are now consulting on new proposals for a Smart Export Guarantee to support future arrangements for small-scale low-carbon generators (including solar power generators) to receive payment for the electricity they export to the grid. My Rt Hon Friend, the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced at Autumn Budget 2018 that the Government was freezing beer duties for the second consecutive year as beer makes up close to 50% of pub sales. Many pubs are also benefitting from the business rates retail discount, announced at Budget 2018, which cuts bills by one third for retail properties with a rateable value below £51,000 from April 2019, as well as wider reforms and reductions to business rates.</p> more like this
