unstar this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice has published regular updates on the actions the department has taken in response to the Lammy Review recommendations.</p><p> </p><p>Of the actions we said we would undertake 29 have been completed out of the 33 recommendations made in the Lammy Review. The remaining recommendations have a justifiable reason for their extended timescales.</p><p> </p><p>Where a recommendation could not be implemented in full or exactly as set out in the Review, alternative approaches have been sought to achieve the same aim.</p><p> </p><p>The recommendations of the Lammy Review apply to services delivered across both Wales and England. One recommendation needed to acknowledge health as a devolved service in Wales in its implementation.</p> more like this

The UK’s recent £1.1billion investment to the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria makes us the second largest donor during the fifth replenishment period. This support will help provide enough lifesaving anti-retroviral therapy for 1.3million people living with HIV.</p><p>DFID tracks our spending on HIV/AIDS using sector codes recommended by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC) reporting system. unstar this property answer text <p>The UK has been a driving force in tackling this issue, galvanising the aid sector to put in place the vital initiatives needed to finally rid it of those who seek to tarnish its reputation. We have been very clear that we will not tolerate practices which do not reach the highest standards in relation to tackling harassment, including sexual harassment, bullying and abuse of power. The UK expects the current Executive Director to step down. This is vital to signal a strong response to this critical issue within and beyond the organisation.</p><p> </p><p>The UK’s next scheduled payment to UNAIDS is not due until later in the year. We will assess progress in implementation of the Panel’s recommendations as part of our regular review of funding.</p><p> </p><p>A statement was issued by the Secretary of State on UNAIDS on Thursday 20 December 2018, reference: HCWS1223.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>DFID’s work has been pivotal in supporting the governments of Bangladesh and Nepal to respond quickly and effectively to help people who have been affected. In each affected country:</p><p> </p><ul><li><strong>Bangladesh</strong>: DFID made the first international contribution of £660,000 – the largest contributor after Government of Bangladesh itself -to those affected by the floods, via a consortium of NGOs. This will help over 60,000 people with food, shelter, and water and sanitation.</li><li><strong>Nepal:</strong> DFID has also allocated £400,000 to the Nepal Red Cross Society for water, sanitation, livelihood recovery and health. DFID has also responded through the START Fund global consortia of NGOs, which responds to small and medium emergencies. The multi-donor global START Fund has allocated £325,000.</li><li><strong>India:</strong> The START Fund has allocated £400,000 for India. The Indian Government has not requested assistance.</li><li><strong>Pakistan</strong>: DFID has funded a rapid assessment around Karachi and Sindh to identify potential needs.</li></ul><p> </p>
