unstar this property answer text <p>Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) and health evidence reviews have been prepared by scientific expert groups in the United Kingdom and around the world. The independent Advisory Group on Non-Ionising Radiation (AGNIR) published their report in the UK in 2012 and the European Commission’s Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) published their report in 2015. The World Health Organization is presently preparing a review. unstar this property answer text <p>In the financial year 2017-18 the estimated total cost to National Health Service trusts and NHS foundation trusts for providing rehabilitation for drug and alcohol addiction is £572,000. The majority of drug and alcohol services fall under the remit of local authorities who are responsible for assessing local need and commissioning services to meet identified needs, including for drug and alcohol dependence, using the ringfenced public health grant.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The project to develop and test the feasibility of new models that pay companies for antimicrobials based primarily on a heath technology assessment of their value to the National Health Service as opposed to the volumes used, and to share the learning with international stakeholders, is expected to be established by July this year.</p><p> </p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan, published in January this year, makes the commitment to implement the human health aspects of ‘Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance (2019-2024): the UK’s five-year national action plan’. The project will be led by a central project team resourced by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and NHS England and the National Institute for Health Research Policy Research Programme is considering research to support the process.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Building on the achievements in the UK Five Year in Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Strategy (2013-2018), the Government published ‘Contained and controlled: The UK’s 20-year vision for antimicrobial resistance’ and ‘Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance (2019-2024): The UK’s five-year national action plan’ on 24 January 2019. unstar this property answer text <p>The Department has made no assessment on the effect of prescription charges on the young people with asthma and on the incidence of asthma attacks in England. The Department has made no estimate of the number of people with asthma who have missed their medication due to the cost of a prescription. Extensive arrangements are in place to help people afford NHS prescriptions. These include a broad range of prescription charge exemptions, for which someone with asthma may qualify.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has no current plans to amend these exemptions, including the list of medical conditions that provides exemption from prescription charges. Children under 16, and students under the age of 19 and in qualifying full-time education are also exempt from prescription charges. People on a low income, who do not qualify for an exemption, may be eligible for full or partial help with prescription charges through application to the NHS Low Income Scheme.</p><p> </p><p>To support those with greatest need who do not qualify for an exemption or the NHS Low Income Scheme, prescription prepayment certificates are available. A holder of a 12-month certificate can get all the prescriptions they need for just £2 per week.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>The Department has made no assessment on the effect of prescription charges on the young people with asthma and on the incidence of asthma attacks in England. The Department has made no estimate of the number of people with asthma who have missed their medication due to the cost of a prescription. Extensive arrangements are in place to help people afford NHS prescriptions. These include a broad range of prescription charge exemptions, for which someone with asthma may qualify.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has no current plans to amend these exemptions, including the list of medical conditions that provides exemption from prescription charges. Children under 16, and students under the age of 19 and in qualifying full-time education are also exempt from prescription charges. People on a low income, who do not qualify for an exemption, may be eligible for full or partial help with prescription charges through application to the NHS Low Income Scheme.</p><p> </p><p>To support those with greatest need who do not qualify for an exemption or the NHS Low Income Scheme, prescription prepayment certificates are available. A holder of a 12-month certificate can get all the prescriptions they need for just £2 per week.</p>
