The industry is free to consider initiatives which meet the overall requirements of the Department for Transport's specification. This may include providing additional seating capacity in standard class carriages through conversion of first class carriages. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction answer text <p>There has been a sharp rise in numbers of illegal immigrants in Calais and the surrounding area, since 2013. This stems from the fact that France, unlike the UK, is part of the border free Schengen Area. We are clear that it is for the French to maintain law and order on their soil, but it is in the UK's interest to work with France to secure the border at Calais and other key ports.</p><p> </p><p>On 20 September 2014, the Home Secretary and French Interior Minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, signed a joint declaration outlining a number of joint initiatives to tackle increasing migratory flows in Europe. That includes a range of improvements to security and infrastructure in Calais, to strengthen the port and provide greater protection to hauliers and tourists.</p><p> </p><p>Her Majesty’s Government has long been alive to the challenges posed in Calais. Millions of pounds have already been invested in improving security and upgrading technology in Calais. The Government has increased staffing levels in the port and extended security patrols. In addition to physical searches, Border Force officers use detection dogs, heartbeat detectors and carbon dioxide probes to find those hiding clandestinely in vehicles and freight.</p><p> </p> question first answered 28/10/2014 15:19:32

Total mental health spending will rise from £8.5 billion in 2013-14 to £8.62 billion in 2014-15.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government has committed an additional £40 million funding boost for mental health services in 2014-15. A further £80 million in 2015-16 will be freed by NHS England from existing budgets.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Department and NHS England continue to work together to ensure that there are consistent messages to commissioners and providers about the importance of delivering parity of esteem for people with mental health needs.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Monitor and NHS England are responsible for setting the national tariff arrangements and are working together to develop a national payment system for mental health which promotes early intervention, access to effective evidence-based care, improved outcomes and recovery.</p><p> </p><p>The national tariff arrangements for 2015-16 will include examples of new and innovative payment models which local commissioners and providers may choose to adopt next year.</p><p> </p> question first answered 29/10/2014 12:24:43

We have urged the DPRK authorities to respond in detail to the contents of the report and to address the violations that it documents.</p><p>Although not all recommendations in the COI report apply directly to the UK, where possible we have taken steps to support implementation. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction answer text <p>Following the adoption of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)’s Universal Periodic Review (UPR) report on 19 September 2014, the UK issued a statement via our Mission in Geneva welcoming the DPRK’s engagement. We urged the DPRK to fulfil the commitment made to respond to the 185 recommendations which it agreed to examine, and to take concrete steps to implement all the UPR recommendations. We also noted with regret that 83 UPR recommendations did not enjoy the support of the DPRK, particularly those related to the findings of the UN Commission of Inquiry, co-operation with the Special Rapporteur, the treatment of political prisoners and closure of political prison camps.</p><p>We have made clear to the DPRK that the UK would be happy to provide technical assistance or advice to the DPRK on any aspect of its human rights performance, including for example information on the UK approach to our own UPR.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> question first answered 29/10/2014 15:36:13
