Alongside the Clean Maritime Plan, the Government published research setting out some of challenges around increasing uptake of electric charging. As noted in this research, capital expenditure costs associated with electric charging berths will vary greatly. They may be influenced by, for instance, the size of the vessels being plugged in, the existing grid infrastructure, and the layout of port infrastructure. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/07/2019 answer text <p>In June 2019, the UK became the first major economy to legislate for net zero emissions, setting a target for 2050. Emissions for UK domestic shipping fall within this target. Although emissions from international shipping and aviation are not formally included within the legislation at this point, it is essential that these sectors play their role. To ensure we are on the right trajectory for net zero emissions across the economy, we will continue to leave ‘headroom’ for international shipping and aviation emissions in our carbon budgets. Government continues to be of the view that action to tackle emissions from these sectors must be done globally to be effective. The UK will continue to take a leadership role at the IMO, pushing for the most ambitious measures to deliver the vision, and emission reduction targets, of the IMO GHG Strategy.</p><p> </p><p>The Clean Maritime Plan sets out aspirational goals for the sector, not mandatory targets. These goals encompass both international and domestic shipping in UK waters. Most community transport operators provide vital social care services to older or disabled people as well as those most at risk of isolation.</p><p> </p><p>The Department has taken steps to protect this sector. The needs of all public transport users must be taken into account when considering how to manage the different public transport networks. Changes at one station or location may benefit passengers there but may be a disadvantage to passengers further along the route.</p><p> </p><p>The Department is currently in the process of building the Bus Open Data Digital Service which will serve as a platform for bus operators to provide their route, timetable, location, and fares data. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/08/2019 answer text <p>The Bus Services Act 2017 provides the tools local authorities need such as Enhanced Partnerships and Franchising to improve local bus services and increase passenger numbers. Our forthcoming Bus Open Data Digital Service will transform the experience for passengers by making it easier for them to work out the best options available.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has committed to provide £150 million of funding to support the delivery of smart and integrated ticketing across local transport and rail services in the north. Successful prosecution depends on the police sighting the vehicle on the public highway and establishing that an offence has been committed. Number plate offences are also included in the Home Office’s fixed penalty system. This provides the police with a practical and effective means of enforcement.
