There were 2,761 staff based elsewhere within the UK and 35 staff based overseas.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, there are 1,237 military posts in DE&amp;S with 721 personnel based in Abbey Wood, 470 personnel based elsewhere in UK and 46 personnel based overseas.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As of 31 March 2023, Defence Equipment and Support (DE&amp;S) employed 11,972 permanent staff.</p><p> </p><p>Figures for permanent staff include both civilian and military personnel. In addition, 1,107 contractors are employed as Contingent Labour which is used to fill funded posts within DE&amp;S on a short-term basis.</p><p> </p><p>Contractors are also engaged to provide Private Sector Support (PSS), which is defined by DE&amp;S as external support to supplement DE&amp;S capacity and capability to manage its programme of work. It may also include support to business improvement and change programmes. star this property answer text <p>Defence Equipment and Support (DE&amp;S) have completed the first detailed design of the new Operating Model, which is now undergoing scenario testing and refinement. Implementation of the DE&amp;S Gateway is currently in progress. Iterative improvement will continue between initial implementation and stabilisation of the new Operating Model. DE&amp;S are working towards a full operating capability by March 2025.</p><p> </p><p>119 individuals (96.44 FTE) are currently working on the DE&amp;S Operating Model.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>I have personally expressed the importance of ensuring staff felt able to voice concerns at a DE&amp;S “Town Hall” meeting in November 2023.</p><p>As well as speaking to their management chain, staff have a number of formal and informal routes to raise behaviour which falls outside our values, including the MOD Helpline, the Employee Assistance Programme and in-house mediation service.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>On a like-for-like basis, the average number of full-time equivalent staff, employed by Defence Equipment and Support (DE&amp;S), has increased from 11,035 staff in financial year 2017-18 to 11,318 staff in financial year 2021-22.</p><p>The recorded figure for financial year 2017-18 was 12,358, but this included 1,323 staff from the Submarine Delivery Agency.</p><p>These figures include both civilian and military personnel but exclude contingent labour which is used to fill funded posts within DE&amp;S on a short-term basis.</p><p>DE&amp;S Staff numbers are published annually as part of the DE&amp;S Annual Reports and Accounts, which are available on Gov.uk at: Defence Equipment &amp; Support annual report and accounts: index - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)</p> more like this
