But we are aware that more needs to be done if we are to end hunger by 2030, and the new report confirms the urgency. Last summer, the PM announced that CDC Group, the UK’s Development Finance Institution, would invest up to £3.5 billion in businesses in Africa over four years (2018 to 2021). CDC has already committed £1.9bn in Africa over the last 3 years (2016-2018). CDC is invested in 698 different companies in Africa, directly supporting 370,000 jobs.</p><p>Through CDC and other country specific initiatives, we will mobilise a further £4 billion of private investment for Africa. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2019 answer text <p>We have discussed the procurement of steel with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, which has asked all Government departments to consider guidance on steel procurement and to notify of any upcoming opportunities for industry.</p><p> </p><p>More broadly, the Government is committed to supporting the steel sector to realise the broader commercial opportunities that are open to it, which could be worth an additional £3.8 billion a year by 2030. We are establishing the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund – backed by up to £315m of investment – to help businesses with high energy use (including steel companies) to cut their bills and transition UK industry to a low carbon future. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/07/2019 answer text <p>The UK is the second largest bilateral donor responding to the refugee situation in Uganda, through UN agencies and international NGOs, and in coordination with the Government of Uganda. Between March 2015 and April 2019 UKAid provided extensive support that has enabled the delivery of a range of life-saving assistance and protection services. These include providing 1.2 million people with food assistance, 130,000 people with access to clean water, and 342,000 women and children with nutritional support. We have also led efforts to prevent the spread of Ebola into refugee settlements in Uganda.</p><p> </p><p>The UK’s response in Uganda will continue to protect people in crisis and invest in long-term livelihood and self-reliance options. The number of displaced people across Mali has more than tripled in the past year. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/07/2019 answer text <p>UK support over the last six years has resulted in 17 million people having improved access to clean energy, and 590MW of clean energy capacity being installed.</p><p>DFID’s support to clean energy in developing countries is delivered through a range of programmes. For example, DFID provides funding to support the installation of more solar power such as through mini-grids in Kenya and Rwanda; helps to establish markets in African countries for small scale, household solar power so poor people have access to affordable clean energy; and funds research and innovation for example in electric vehicles, clean cookstoves and solar battery storage. We also provide support for investments in clean energy through CDC for example supporting hydro-electric power in DRC; and through our funding of multilateral development organisations, such as the World Bank and the Green Climate Fund, the latter of which reports investment of $12.4 billion in renewable energy since 2008.</p><p>Our priority is to help developing countries establish a secure and sustainable energy supply, which is essential for economic growth and poverty reduction.
