<p>The Age Addition is paid to people who reached State Pension age prior to 6<sup>th</sup>
April 2016 when they claim their State Pension and attain 80 years of age. It is not
payable to those people who reached State Pension age on or after 6<sup>th</sup> April
2016.</p><p> </p><p>In March 2019, the most recent date for which data are available,
there were approximately 3.3m people in receipt of the payment, at a weekly cost of
