	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/06/2019 answer text <p>On 18<sup>th</sup> February 2019, the Secretary of State for International Trade signed the UK-Israel Trade and Partnership Agreement, which ensures continuity in our trade and investment relationship after the proposed Implementation Period, or if the UK leaves the EU without a deal. Securing continuity is the strongest foundation on which to build further on our successful trading relationship.</p><p> </p><p>The UK is committed to strengthening our excellent bilateral relationship through the dedicated trade promotion team at our Embassy in Tel-Aviv. It has been on a tender-by-tender basis. Tenders can be accessed via: <a href="http://www.tokyo2020.org/en/organising-committee/procurement/" target="_blank">www.tokyo2020.org/en/organising-committee/procurement/</a></p><p> </p><p>Procurement is still at a very early stage with regards to Paris 2024. Procurement opportunities, outside of infrastructure, will accelerate after Tokyo 2020. The IMF recently estimated this to be in the order of -0.5% of global GDP in 2020. The UK is engaging with partners across the globe to seek a resolution. We are clear that nobody benefits from trade wars.</p><p> </p><p>The UK shares some of the US’s concerns with China’s trade practices and believes they should be addressed through structural reform in China and through multilateral cooperation, including ambitious reform of the World Trade Organization (WTO). The UK supports a global rules-based trade system. Our bilateral trade was £6.6bn in 2018, an increase of 16.4% from 2017. UK exports to Taiwan grew by 40% from £1.96bn to £2.76bn (latest [ONS] data). As we leave the EU, we are committed to strengthening our trade partnership with Taiwan, and across Asia Pacific, including through the annual UK-Taiwan Trade Talks – due to take place in London in October.
