unstar this property answer text <p>All renewable energy projects greater than 300MW, and all Floating Offshore Wind projects bidding for support via a Contract for Difference must submit a Supply Chain Plan to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. In this plan, they must set out the actions they will take to improve their supply chain. Among these, applicants must set out how they are increasing the visibility of opportunities to make it easier for smaller firms to win contracts. They must also set out specifically how they are helping small and medium enterprises and new entrants into the renewables sector.</p> more like this

The Government is not aware of evidence to suggest natural hydrogen will make a significant contribution to the UK’s hydrogen production ambitions. However, the Government welcomes efforts from other countries that support the production and use of low carbon hydrogen, and is working with international partners on issues including natural hydrogen.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>In order to meet the nuclear ambition set out in the British Energy Security Strategy, we will need to consider a range of technologies and options for deployment, including both large-scale reactors and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs).</p><p> </p><p>Launched at my Rt. Hon. Friend Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer’s Budget, Great British Nuclear (GBN) will enable Britain’s deployment of nuclear reactors beyond Sizewell C, addressing constraints in the nuclear market and delivering an ambitious civil nuclear programme. The initial focus for GBN will be on SMRs, but it will support government’s consideration of further large-scale projects beyond Sizewell C to help us deliver on our net zero ambitions.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1129728/electric-vehicle-smart-charging-action-plan.pdf" target="_blank">EV Smart Action Plan</a> published earlier this year, estimated that the electrification of cars, vans and HGVs could add 50 – 70 TWh by 2035 and 90 – 140 TWh by 2050 to electricity generation. The Department has not estimated the additional electricity generation or network capacity required specifically from electric logistics vehicles. Ofgem is responsible for regulating networks to deliver for Net Zero. Under the most recent price control, Ofgem has allowed £22.2bn for investment in low voltage networks, including £3.1bn for network upgrades to enable technologies, like electric vehicles, to join the grid.</p> more like this
