	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/01/2024 answer text <p>Where non-consensual intimate images are posted online via user-to-user services, then the providers who operate these services should have the technical ability to remove these images.</p><p> </p><p>The Online Safety Act received Royal Assent on 26 October 2023. This legislation will give online service providers new duties to implement systems and processes to tackle illegal content on their services and take this content down, including illegal intimate image abuse content.</p><p> </p><p>The Act also updates the law, to make sure that offences criminalising intimate image abuse are fit for the digital age. This may then be a matter for law enforcement and/or regulatory bodies such as the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.</p><p> </p><p>The Online Safety Act also puts duties on user-to-user and search service providers to tackle illegal third-party content accessed on or via their service. This is part of the wider AI Policy Directorate and AI Safety Institute of roughly 200 officials that includes teams covering AI regulation, strategy and risk, UK capability and international engagement. In addition, there are wider risk owning teams in at least 15 other Government Departments, who work on AI risks in their remits. This includes cyberbullying and online abuse and harassment, which has been designated as ‘priority content that is harmful to children’. Companies must assess the risk to children from this kind of content and implement proportionate and age-appropriate protections.</p><p> </p><p>All in-scope companies must tackle illegal content, including illegal abuse and harassment. It is supported by His Holiness the Pope and in 2018 over 65 different denominations and traditions held events across 114 countries. Major beacon events took place in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. More information can be found here: <a href="https://www.thykingdomcome.global/" target="_blank">https://www.thykingdomcome.global/</a></p><p>Events take the form of large public gatherings, community prayer walks, meals and picnics in churches or parks. They bring together people from different traditions and denominations across all parts of the local community.</p><p>In Northern Ireland, both Roman Catholic and Church of Ireland Archbishops of Armagh issued a joint statement to support events taking place in St Anne’s Cathedral Belfast, St Macartin’s Cathedral Enniskillen, and St Mark’s Church Armagh.
