<p>The UK Government has not assessed the cost to the UK of following the advice of the World Climate Declaration. The IPCC does not make specific policy recommendations or directly advise governments so it is not possible to make an assessment of the costs of their advice. The IPCC's assessments are used on an ongoing basis to inform government decision making, including the HMT Net Zero Review, published alongside the Net Zero Strategy in autumn 2021. This analysed the costs and benefits of the transition and showed that the costs of global inaction significantly outweigh the costs of climate action.</p>
