	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/05/2019 answer text <p>‘Prevention is better than cure’, published by the Department in November 2018, highlighted the important role social prescribing can play in reducing people’s isolation and improving levels of activity.</p><p>As set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, NHS England has committed to deliver at least £4.5 billion of new investment in primary medical and community health services over the next five years. Different communities require different social care provision and local authorities are best placed to understand the needs of their constituents.</p><p> </p><p>We have given local authorities access to up to £3.9 billion more dedicated funding for adult social care this year, and a further £410 million is available for adults and children’s services. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/06/2019 answer text <p>On 21 May 2019, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) published its ‘Interim Report: Review of restraint, prolonged seclusion and segregation for people with a mental health problem, a learning disability and or autism.’ The Government has accepted all five of the recommendations in the CQC’s interim report including the recommendation that over the next 12 months, there should be an independent and an in-depth review of the care provided to, and the discharge plan for, each person who is in segregation on a ward for children and young people or on a ward for people with a learning disability and/or autism.</p><p> </p><p>The Department is committed to working with partners across the health, education and care system to ensure that all of the recommendations are implemented effectively.</p><p> </p><p>We will ensure the care of each and every person detained in seclusion or long term segregation is thoroughly scrutinised. The timeframe required to review each case will be case-specific but each review will be conducted efficiently. The Government has committed to publishing a Green Paper setting out its proposals for reform and will bring forward ideas for including an element of risk pooling in the system, which will help to protect people from the highest costs. It sets out how the NHS will spend the £33.9 billion cash terms annual increase going into the NHS budget by 2023/24. Research on health and social care continues to be funded by the Government through the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The future of budgets outside of the NHS England resource settlement will be confirmed later this year at Spending Review 2019.</p><p>The NIHR welcomes funding applications for research into any aspect of human health, including chronic pancreatitis. As with other major research funders, the NIHR does not ring-fence funds for particular topics or conditions. Applications for funding are subject to peer review and judged in open competition, with awards being made on the basis of the importance of the topic to patients and health and care services, value for money and scientific quality.</p><p><br> The NIHR’s funding and support for research into chronic pancreatitis which is currently ongoing or recently concluded (in financial year 2018/19) includes one directly funded study, with a total award of £262,500, investigating the use of antioxidants and magnesium for the treatment of pain in hereditary and idiopathic chronic pancreatitis.
