star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to safeguarding pension savings. <br></p><p />The Pension Schemes Act 2021, notably Section 125, will strengthen rules around pension transfers and<br />introduce new criminal offences for unscrupulous employers who mismanage schemes. These measures will protect savers in Bury South and across the United Kingdom<p /><p /><p>Many pension scams are initiated and perpetuated online, and that is why I am meeting with Google on 10 March to explore what action is being taken against online pension fraud<br>and persuade them to stop fraudsters using their site.</p><p /><p /> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The additional support to expand existing exemptions for care leavers and former residents of homeless hostels has been brought forward by over two years and made available from 31<br>May 2021. <br><br></p><p />However, the new exemptions from the shared accommodation rate for victims of domestic violence and modern slavery will require more significant amendments to legislation as well as local<br />authority and Universal Credit IT systems, which will take time to develop and implement. <p /><p /><p>For those who require additional housing support and whose circumstances may make it difficult for them to share accommodation, Discretionary Housing Payments are<br>available. Since 2011, the government has provided over £1 billion in Discretionary Housing Payments to local authorities to help support vulnerable people.</p><p /><p /> more like this

star this property answer text <p>This Government has introduced an unprecedented package of welfare support of over £6.5 billion to help families cope with the financial impact of COVID-19. This has included increases to<br>Universal Credit and Working Tax Credit worth up to £1,040 this financial year. In addition, we have increased Local Housing Allowance, lifting rates to the 30th percentile in the Private Rented Sector, putting an average of £600 into people’s pockets.</p><p /><p /> <p> </p><p /><p /> <p>Local Authorities in England will now be able to use the £500 million Hardship Fund announced at the Spring Budget, to help working people on Local Council Tax Support to provide additional help to vulnerable people locally through arrangements such as Local Welfare Schemes. On 10 June, it was announced that we are now providing £63 million in additional funding to local authorities in England to help people who find themselves in severe financial difficulties, through local welfare assistance programmes.</p><p /><p /> <p> </p><p> </p>

The Department was invoiced several months later £778.90 for her accommodation, after the initial transparency report had been submitted. This has now been updated.</p><p> </p><p>The other expenses incurred by the Department at the time of the event were £190.34 for airport transfers and £28.00 for Overseas Incidental Expenses.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>(A) How many people receiving HB only are not receiving the £650 Cost Of Living payment</p><p> </p><p>Approximately 100 thousand working-age HB claimants were not in receipt of a qualifying benefit or Tax Credit and so would not receive a cost of living payment of £650 paid in two lump sums of £326 and £324.</p><p> </p><p>There are a further 370 thousand pensioner HB claimants who were also not in receipt of any qualifying benefit but will receive the £300 Cost of Living payment paid through an increase to the Winter Fuel Payment.</p><p> </p><p>(B) What assessment has been made of the sufficiency of the Household Support Fund to reach all those requiring additional support.</p><p> </p><p>£842m has already been allocated to Local Authorities in England through the Household Support Fund to support those in need for the period October 2021- September 2022. Almost 9 million awards were given to those in need between October 2021 and March 2022 alone. A further £421m is being provided to extend the Household Support Fund from October 2022 to March 2023, taking the total funding for this support to over £1.2bn.</p><p> </p><p>Local Authorities have the ties and local knowledge to best determine how this support should be provided to their local communities, and they have the discretion to design their own local schemes to best meet local need, within the parameters of the grant determination and guidance for the fund.</p><p> </p><p>The Household Support Fund is just one part of a wider package of government support for the cost of living now totalling over £37bn this year.</p><p> </p><p />
