	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2019 answer text ​The UK is a strong supporter of a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Cyprus issue. We have therefore been following recent developments in the Eastern Mediterranean with concern and would like to see the situation de-escalated. The UK has made it clear to Turkey, both privately and publicly, that we oppose their plans to drill. We continue to recognise the sovereign right of the Republic of Cyprus to exploit the oil and gas in its internationally agreed Exclusive Economic Zone. We believe it is critical for stability in the Mediterranean, and for the integrity of the Rules-Based International System, that disputes such as this are resolved through dialogue and in accordance with international law. We will continue to work with the Republic of Cyprus, Turkey and the wider region to that end. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2019 answer text As we made clear alongside Troika partners (US and Norway) on 4 June, we condemn the violent attacks by Sudanese security forces against peaceful protestors in Sudan last week, which left many civilians dead or injured. The Foreign Secretary reiterated this in his statement on 6 June, which also called for the full restoration of the internet and freedom of the media. The UK has called for the human rights of all Sudanese people to be respected and for the resumption of the political process with the protestors and the opposition, and an agreed transfer of power to a civilian-led government, as demanded by the Sudanese people, in a swift, orderly and peaceful manner. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/06/2019 answer text <p>​When raising Mr Öcalan's case and the situation of fellow prisoners with the Turkish authorities, we have encouraged them to implement the recommendations made by the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) following their previous visit to the prison in 2016. In this regard, we welcome the fact that Mr Öcalan was granted access to two lawyers on 2 May and again on 22 May. In further developments we also note that the CPT paid another visit to Imrali prison in mid-May, and that the Turkish Minister of Justice has also lifted the court restriction on lawyers' visits to Imrali prison. We note that hunger strikes in support of Mr Öcalan have now ended. In the run-up to the UK-hosted Western Balkans Summit in July 2018, the Albanian Government endorsed the Prime Minister's Call to Action to end forced labour, modern slavery and human trafficking.</p><p>The UK has developed a £2 million programme of activity under the Modern Slavery Fund to address modern slavery in Albania. We have raised this issue with the Indian Government. I discussed the situation in Kashmir with the Indian Foreign Secretary on my visit to India in March this year. We are aware that a number of individuals have been arrested under Oman's national security laws and our Ambassador in Muscat raised the arrests with the Omani authorities, most recently on 27 May with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/06/2019 answer text <p>​We have full confidence in expertise and methodologies of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Fact Finding Mission (FFM). The OPCW Director General has confirmed that all evidence and views were considered by FFM in reaching its conclusion. The final FFM report of 1 March made a clear conclusion of reasonable grounds to believe a chemical weapons attack took place. Important now the Investigation and Identification Team (IIT) are allowed to move forward with their vital work of identifying those responsible for such attacks in Syria. Together with international partners, we are committed to supporting Nigeria and its neighbours in tackling threats to regional stability by ISWA and Boko Haram. Humanitarian operations have been placed under pressure and some suspended, cutting off urgently needed support for up to 120,000 people. The Foreign Secretary met with Nigerian faith leaders, both Muslim and Christian during his recent visit to Nigeria, to discuss how the UK can support their work to promote interfaith relationships and long-term peace.
