	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/06/2019 answer text <p>Ministers have regular discussions with their US counterparts on a wide range of issues, but have not discussed the specific issue of deepfake videos. However, UK officials have discussed the wider issue of online manipulation with their US counterparts on a number of occasions. We are working closely with a range of partners including the US to tackle disinformation, whatever its source or intent. That is why the Government continued to permit people to take daily physical activity, including walking, running and cycling, even during the height of the lockdown.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The latest guidance on the phased return of sport and recreation can be found at <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-on-phased-return-of-sport-and-recreation" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-on-phased-return-of-sport-and-recreation</a>. The Government is in discussions with representatives from the sport and physical activity sector about the steps required to get remaining sports up and running (including team sports and contact sports). This is an important part of government’s response to disinformation and in supporting the sustainability of high quality journalism. To this end, as recommended in the Cairncross Review and announced in the Online Harms White Paper, the government will develop a new online media literacy strategy. This will be developed in broad consultation with stakeholders, including major digital, broadcast and news media organisations, the education sector, researchers and civil society. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/06/2019 answer text <p>Ministers have had no recent discussions with their Finnish counterpart about media literacy and disinformation. However officials have discussed these issues bilaterally with Finland on a number of occasions, most recently on 8 May, as well as in multilateral fora. The UK is working closely with like-minded international partners, including EU Member States, to develop coordinated responses to disinformation and limit its harmful impact on our societies.</p><p> </p><p>The Government believes that media literacy and ensuring citizens can critically appraise information online is key to long-term success in building resilience to disinformation and other online harms. As announced in the Online Harms White Paper, the Government will develop a new online media literacy strategy. This strategy will be developed in broad consultation with a wide range of stakeholders, and will ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to online media literacy education and awareness for children, young people and adults.</p><p> </p><p>We are aware that a number of European partners, including Finland, have developed media literacy strategies to tackle disinformation. Our Sporting Future strategy has diversity and inclusion at its heart, and sets out how important it is for all children to have a good experience of sport and physical activity.</p><p>Throughout the pandemic we provided an unprecedented £1 billion of financial support to ensure the survival of the sport and leisure sector. To tackle inequalities and support those most impacted by the restrictions, Sport England have launched a new £20m Together Fund that builds on the work of their £20m Tackling Inequalities Fund to help people stay active and provide guidance on how to find accessible activities. Initiatives such as the Studio You video platform, funded by Sport England and powered by This Girl Can, are also encouraging more teenage girls to be active. Sport England’s recently launched Uniting the Movement strategy reinforces their commitment to tackling inequalities faced in sport by underrepresented groups.</p><p>A key driver of the government’s School Sport and Activity Action Plan is to ensure that all children and young people have access to at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/09/2021 answer text <p>The government recognises that as part of a digitally inclusive society, television content should be accessible for all UK audiences. Under the Communications Act 2003, the Secretary of State has the power to impose requirements on service providers for the purpose of ensuring that on demand services are accessible to people with disabilities. This includes requirements in relation to subtitling, audio description and sign language.</p><p>As part of the process to implement these new requirements, the Government asked Ofcom to provide recommendations on how legislation could make on-demand services more accessible. Ofcom published an initial report in December 2018, and then, following a request from DCMS, carried out an additional targeted consultation to inform further recommendations on how the new requirements would work in practice to ensure that as far as possible all audiences should be able to access on-demand services. These latest proposals were published on 9 July 2021.
