	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/05/2019 answer text <p>We have been clear that we want all EU nationals, including those working in the NHS and the care sector, to stay in the UK after we leave the EU.</p><p><br>In December 2018, the Government set out its proposals in “The UK’s future Skills-based Immigration System” White Paper. The White Paper proposals include a new route for skilled workers which will be open to anyone at RQF level 3 and above, irrespective of where they are applying from. This route will not be capped allowing all of those who meet our requirements to come to the UK and we intend to abolish the existing Resident Labour Market Test for highly skilled roles.</p><p><br>The White Paper also includes, as a transitional measure, a temporary workers route which will be open to anyone from qualifying countries, wishing to fill positions at any skill level, for up to 12 months. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/12/2021 answer text <p>Overseas musicians and performers make an important contribution to the UK's creative sector and are very welcome in the United Kingdom. We therefore offer a range of immigration routes for creative workers.</p><p>Visiting artists, entertainers and musicians can come to the UK and perform at events, take part in competitions and auditions, make personal appearances and take part in promotional activities for up to six months without the need for formal sponsorship or a work visa if they are not receiving payment beyond expenses or prize money.</p><p>Those from non-visa national countries can come to perform in the UK and be paid without the need to obtain a visa in advance for up to one month under the Permitted Paid Engagement route, up to three months if they have been assigned a Certificate of Sponsorship by a licenced sponsor or for up to six months if performing at a Permit Free Festival. With no requirement to obtain a visa prior to travel, these options provide a flexible system which enables performance slots to be filled at short notice and reduces the administrative burden for performers.</p><p>For longer-term work, the Temporary Work – Creative Worker visa allows creative workers to come to the UK to undertake paid engagements for up to twelve months, which can be extended for a further twelve months in certain cases. We also offer priority and super priority services for those who wish to receive a quicker decision on their visa application (<a href="https://www.gov.uk/faster-decision-visa-settlement" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/faster-decision-visa-settlement</a>).</p><p>Fees are kept under review and are set taking account of the charging powers provided by Section 68(9) of the Immigration Act 2014, which include the ability to set fees based on: the cost of processing the application, the benefits and entitlements provided by a successful application and the wider cost of the Migration and Borders system. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/09/2022 answer text <p>The Home Office publishes data on the number of people recorded being detected on, or shortly after, arrival to the UK on various routes in the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/irregular-migration-to-the-uk-statistics" target="_blank">Irregular Migration to the UK</a> quarterly report. The latest data on selected methods of entry are published in table Irr_01 of the <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1098899/irregular-migration-to-the-UK-data-tables-year-ending-june-2022.ods" target="_blank">Irregular migration to the UK data tables</a>. The latest data go up to the end of June 2022.</p><p>These statistics should not be used to infer the size of the irregular population in the UK, nor the total number of people entering the UK irregularly. For a number of reasons, it is not possible to know the exact size of the irregular population, or the number entering irregularly, and so we have not produced any official estimates for this number.</p><p>This is because:</p><ul><li>some irregular migrants will successfully evade border controls and remain in the UK undetected</li><li>some migrants who enter the UK regularly may subsequently become ‘irregular’ migrants – for example if they overstay a visa (it should be noted that there are a number of ways in which a migrant’s departure from the UK may legitimately not be recorded on the system)</li><li>the data sources available count the number of recorded detections - in some instances the same person may be detected multiple times, either on the same route or across different routes (such individuals will be counted multiple times in the statistics)</li><li>some migrants who enter the UK irregularly may subsequently become ‘regular’ migrants – for example, following a successful asylum application</li></ul><p>Figures on detections may be impacted by the levels of operational activity at the border and overseas, so should not be used to infer levels of irregular migration.
