In terms of tax returns we do ask Paying Parents that we believe are overseas for their tax status and details of tax payments. The Department has no powers to compel if a response is not received. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 24/04/2019 answer text <p>If a paying parent is found to be habitually resident in the UK, the Child Maintenance Service has jurisdiction to perform a calculation, once a legal liability to pay child maintenance is established. The maintenance calculation will be based on information held by HM Revenue &amp; Customs (HMRC) about their earnings for the most recent complete tax year.</p><p> </p><p>Access to income information reported by HMRC allows us to capture a much wider range of income types received by paying parents, including income from property, savings and investments (including dividends) and other miscellaneous income. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/04/2019 answer text <p>Disguised Remuneration (DR) schemes are contrived arrangements that pay loans in place of ordinary remuneration with the sole purpose of avoiding income tax and National Insurance contributions.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has received representations from members of the public including responses to the consultation on the loan charge, correspondence with ministers and submissions sent to inform the report required under Section 95 of the Finance Act 2019. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/04/2019 answer text <p>The Department has not made any assessment of the effect of the regulation of section 6 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 on medical devices containing computers.</p><p> </p><p>Section 6 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 places duties on any person who designs, manufacturers, imports or supplies any article for use at work to ensure that it will be safe and without risks to health. In general this applies to all devices used in the workplace but there are exceptions, such as medical devices, which are regulated by specific regulations that set out more detailed duties.</p><p> </p><p>The Medical Devices Regulations 2002 deal with the design, manufacture, import or supply of medical devices, including those which may contain computers/software. It is for the designer, manufacturer, importer or supplier to demonstrate that their product is safe. These regulations transpose the requirements of the following European Directives concerning product safety for medical devices:</p><p>- Council Directive 90/385/EEC on Active Implantable Medical Devices (AIMDD)(1990);</p><p>- Council Directive 93/42/EEC on Medical Devices (MDD)(1993); and</p><p>- Council Directive 98/79/EC on In Vitro Diagnostic Medical Devices (IVDMD)(1998).</p><p> </p><p>The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) regulates medical devices in the United Kingdom.
