Highways England had previously advised that these tourist signs would be removed as part of future planned works on the A14, a decision that was driven by the standards relating to tourist signs on the strategic road network.</p><p> </p><p>Highways England reviewed its decision because it appreciates the significance of the site, and the signs on the A14 will remain in place.</p><p> </p> more like this

In a deal scenario, flights will continue as now during the time-limited Implementation Period. In a no deal scenario, the EU has adopted a regulation which gives UK airlines the right to fly to and from the EU for 12 months, and the UK will reciprocate these rights for EU airlines.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Department for Transport maintains close contact with the airline sector to ensure that their requirements are factored into EU Exit negotiations and preparations.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Government has prohibited the use of CCTV and ANPR for local authority on-street parking enforcement since 2015 under the Deregulation Act 2015 and the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 2015. For reasons of child safety and congestion management, parking restrictions near schools, on red routes, in bus lanes, and at bus stand clearways are exempt from this ban. As part of its work to improve the safety of cycling, the Government intends to introduce another exemption that will enable the use of approved camera devices for enforcing parking restrictions in mandatory cycle lanes.</p><p> </p> more like this

We do not comment on the aviation security measures that other countries have in place, nor do we assess other impacts on the current restrictions on flights.</p><p> </p><p>The UK continues to work closely with the Egyptian authorities, sharing aviation security expertise, and we look forward to achieving the return of flights when the situation allows.</p><p> </p><p>The terrorist threat level to the UK is kept under constant review by the independent Joint Terrorist Analysis Centre, whose judgements about the threat level are made on the basis of the very latest intelligence. unstar this property answer text <p>Under the Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation (RTFO) biofuels reported as being made from waste have risen from 12 per cent of total biofuel supply in the first year of the obligation 2008/09, to 66 per cent in 2017/18. In 2017/18 the most widely reported source for biodiesel, by feedstock and country of origin, remained used cooking oil from the UK. (Biofuels Statistics obligation year 10 2017/18 - Report 6).</p><p> </p><p>Last year the Government introduced changes to the RTFO which will almost double the use of renewable fuels from 2018 to 2020. Bio-diesel made from used cooking oil remains eligible for double rewards under the scheme, and will benefit from the increased market for renewable fuels.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Government has no current plans to change the GB domestic drivers’ hours legislation applicable to drivers of local bus services. The existing legislation is both important and appropriate in ensuring the safety of drivers and others on the road. However, any further restrictions could risk imposing unreasonable burdens on industry, particularly as fatal accidents involving bus or coaches have been falling over time, from 120 in 2007 to 55 in 2017. It is worth noting that reported involvement in a fatal accident does not necessarily indicate fault or causation.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Safety will always be the key priority for rail. Reflecting this, and in the light of outstanding safety issues, consent for the electricity link project was suspended for safety reasons in October 2017, preventing construction work from continuing to the next stage.</p><p> </p><p>Government is represented by UK officials on both the Channel Tunnel Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) and the Channel Tunnel Safety Authority (CTSA). Both of these groups have been involved with the ElecLink project since it was first presented to the CTSA by Eurotunnel in 2011.</p><p> </p><p>A working group, comprised of members from the UK and French delegations to the CTSA, Eurotunnel and the cable project team, was established and meets frequently to ensure that safety issues associated with the cable installation and its interaction with the Eurotunnel railway operations are addressed. That group has both formally and informally assessed submissions from Eurotunnel, as well as completing site inspections, observing at safety tests and attending and convening specialist working groups.</p><p> </p><p>The CTSA working group is currently in the process of assessing Eurotunnel’s latest safety submission, which requests consent for the project to proceed to the next stage of construction. The IGC has asked Eurotunnel to produce a safety case relating to all relevant factors, including an independently assessed Safety Assessment Report, for submission to the CTSA working group.</p><p>No operational precedents for this project have been identified.</p>
