star this property answer text <p>The Prime Minister’s Crime and Justice Taskforce (CJTF) was established last year to consider matters relating to the prevention of crime and the effectiveness of the Criminal Justice System, including combating drug misuse. The Home Secretary, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and the Lord Chancellor are core members of this Taskforce.</p><p> </p><p>In January, the Government announced £80 million to fund drug treatment in England in 2021/22 – the biggest increase in 15 years.</p><p> </p><p>The majority of the funding will be allocated to Local Authorities, through universal grants, to enhance drug treatment, focused on reducing drug related crime and drug related deaths.</p> more like this

That is why we have enhanced the powers available to tackle anti-social behaviour through the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.</p><p>The powers are flexible, allowing local areas to tailor their response according to the circumstances. They are best-placed to understand their communities’ needs and the most appropriate response.</p><p>We keep anti-social behaviour under review through the ASB Strategic Board which brings together key partners.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We have passed the landmark Domestic Abuse Act, which received Royal Assent on 29 April, representing our commitment to transforming our response to this crime.</p><p> </p><p>This Act contains significant reforms to the ways in which victims are supported in the family and civil courts, including a prohibition on cross-examination in person by perpetrators and automatic eligibility for special measures in family and civil courts to help alleviate their trauma.</p><p> </p><p>We are also continuing work to deliver our commitments made in response to the Expert Panel on Harm in the Family Courts report.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government recognises the distress pet theft causes.</p><p>It is for Police and Crime Commissioners and Chief Constables to determine how to tackle this crime. The Government’s role is ensuring police forces have sufficient resources to respond to the challenges they face.</p><p>We have committed to recruit an extra 20,000 police officers by March 2023, with over 6,000 already in place.</p> more like this
