While there is no specialist expertise on speech and language therapy within the group, the Review has received responses from the profession as part of a Call for Evidence. These views are being fully considered as we begin to update the Code of Practice.</p><p> </p><p>There will be further opportunities for all those with an interest in the Code of Practice to provide feedback when we consult on the updated Code of Practice.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice published Experimental Statistics in October 2018, which estimated the numbers of former service personnel in the prison population. The department is due to release the next estimate in October 2019.</p><p> </p><p>This new analysis indicated that as at 30 June 2018, 2032 prisoners had declared as ‘ex-service personnel’ when they were first received into custody between January 2015 and June 2018. The attached table shows the number of ex-service personnel serving a prison sentence in all prisons in Yorkshire as at 30 June 2018.</p><p> </p><p>The Ministry of Justice is committed to ensuring that those who have served in the Armed Forces and who find themselves in the Criminal Justice System are able to access support, whether they are serving their sentence in custody or in the community.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department has no plans to suspend The National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations in relation to charges for maternity care, as recommended in the report ‘Duty of care?: The impact on midwives on NHS charging for maternity care.’</p><p> </p><p>The Department is committed to considering evidence it receives in relation to the Regulations, including evidence set out in the report. The Department also works closely with NHS England and NHS Improvement to support NHS providers in the delivery of the charging regime; and to ensure that providers understand the guidance and how it should be properly and consistently implemented. This includes ensuring NHS Trusts fully understand that all maternity treatment must be provided to any chargeable woman, regardless of her ability to pay, and that they must not be discouraged from receiving it.</p><p> </p> more like this

The draft NHS Standard Contract for 2020/21 includes a proposal for annual targets for trust and clinical commissioning group-level reductions in <em>E. coli</em>, Methicillin-Sensitive Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella and Pseudomonas bloodstream infections. The draft contract is out for consultation until 31 January 2020.</p><p> </p><p>The NHS Standard Contract will continue to include targets for both methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium difficile (CDI). The zero-tolerance approach for MRSA bacteraemia will continue, and all acute providers submit monthly data on all positive MRSA bacteraemia specimens. CDI thresholds are published annually by NHS England and NHS Improvement and all acute providers must report positive CDI specimens.</p><p>National targets for vaccine preventable disease/immunisation are 95% national coverage for key vaccines, and 50% coverage for the childhood flu vaccine. The UK has also committed to meeting the World Health Organization elimination targets for hepatitis C, hepatitis B and Tuberculosis (TB) ahead of 2030, and is committed to eradicating HIV transmission in England by 2030 (Public Health England’s infectious disease strategy).</p>

star this property answer text <p>We intend in due course to devolve funding for the increased employer contribution rate in the NHS Pension Scheme although a date has not yet been set. For 2019/20, the Department, NHS England and NHS Improvement and the NHS Business Services Authority agreed a transitional arrangement to distribute the pensions revaluation funding following an increase to the employer contribution rate from 14.38% (inclusive of the 0.08% administration levy) to 20.68% from 1 April 2019.</p><p>The employer contribution cost arrangements for 2020/21 will be confirmed in the 2020/21 Operational Planning Guidance document which will be released towards the end of January 2020.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Novel coronavirus COVID-19 has been added to Schedule 1 of the NHS (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations.</p><p>This means, as for any other infectious disease in Schedule 1, there can be no charge made to an overseas visitor for the diagnosis, or, if positive, treatment, of this coronavirus.</p><p>No charge applies to a diagnostic test even if the result is negative.
