	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/11/2018 answer text <p>The Medical Director of NHS England, Professor Steve Powis, and the Chief Medical Officer, Professor Dame Sally Davies, have written to relevant clinicians to coincide with the coming into force of the rescheduling of cannabis-based medicinal products. The guidance in this letter, which signposts interim clinical advice commissioned from the British Paediatric Neurology Association and the Royal College of Physicians, is in line with normal clinical practice. NHS England is now considering the many responses and submissions it has received, including those from end of life care charities, as part of the listening exercise it held to help develop and refine policy proposals for inclusion in the plan. NICE has not yet published final guidance and recently consulted on its draft guidance.</p><p> </p><p>NICE’s evaluation committee is due to meet again to consider its recommendations in spring next year. This is to enable the company that makes the alpha1-proteinase inhibitor to prepare and submit additional information for consideration by the committee. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/11/2018 answer text <p>The Specialised Respiratory Clinical Reference Group (CRG) is maintaining an oversight of the need to develop a service specification and selection of providers to offer specialised expertise and management advice for patients diagnosed with alpha1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD).</p><p> </p><p>The CRG has recommended that NHS England wait until it is clear on the outcome of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Highly Specialised Technologies evaluation of human alpha1-proteinase inhibitor for treating emphysema in adults with documented severe AATD [ID856] until this development is taken forward.</p><p> </p><p>NICE has not yet published final guidance and recently consulted on its draft guidance. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/11/2018 answer text <p>Public Health England (PHE) has run a number of ‘Be Clear on Cancer’ (BCOC) campaigns to help improve early detection of cancer. In 2014 PHE ran a regional ovarian cancer campaign in the North West of England, and in 2017 a pilot which focussed on a range of abdominal symptoms, such as diarrhoea, bloating and discomfort that can be indicative of a number of cancers, including ovarian cancer was carried out in the East and West Midlands. PHE is currently undertaking new data analysis and research to determine the future direction of BCOC activity in 2019/20 and will take into consideration the outcomes of these previous campaigns. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/11/2018 answer text <p>The NHS Cancer Programme is working to improve access to cancer nurse specialists (CNSs) for all cancer patients when they need it, including those with secondary breast cancer.</p><p> </p><p>We are committed to rolling out the recovery package to every cancer patient by 2020. The recovery package is a set of four interventions designed to help patients and clinicians assess a patient’s holistic needs, including physical and emotional needs, at appropriate time points through their cancer journey, as needs do change especially when a person is diagnosed with secondary cancer. A personalised care and support plan to meets these needs should be agreed, ensuring signposting and referral to the right support and care services is made, and also helping to empower patients to independently manage their own health, with advice and support.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is committed to giving more patients access to a CNS or other specialist from diagnosis onwards to guide them through treatment options and ensure they receive appropriate information and support. In their first Cancer Workforce Plan, which was published in December 2017, Health Education England committed to supporting the expansion of CNSs by developing national competencies and a clear route into training.
