<p>The Home Office leads the Government’s policy and legislation on the misuse of drugs, including on the scheduling of substances controlled under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 and associated legislation. The Department of Health and Social Care has responsibility for the safe management and use of medicines in healthcare.</p>
