Both the 25 Year Environment Plan and the National Action Plan emphasise the importance of Integrated Pest Management. star this property answer text <p>The Government makes an annual assessment of the emissions of PM<sub>0.1</sub> (also known as ultrafine particles) and PM<sub>1</sub>, which is published as part of the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (http://naei.beis.gov.uk/). The Inventory applies emission factors to activity data collected through the year, to estimate the total emissions.</p><p>Defra is continually working to build the evidence base for PM<sub>0.1,</sub> and its independent Air Quality Expert Group published a <a href="https://uk-air.defra.gov.uk/library/reports.php?report_id=968" target="_blank">report</a> on this subject on 27 July 2018 - ‘Ultrafine Particles (UFP) in the UK’.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Destroying usable stock is not condoned by the Government.</p><p> </p><p>In the new Resources and Waste Strategy we have committed to review and consult on measures such as extended producer responsibility (EPR) and product standards for five new waste streams by the end of 2025, two of which we plan to complete by 2022, as well as to explore options for ecolabelling. Textiles is one of the five priority areas identified for this.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, Defra is supporting the voluntary Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP). Signatories, representing nearly 60% of clothes sold in the UK market by volume, are working to minimise waste and reduce the environmental impacts of their products. A number of signatories work with charity partners or donate their unsold stock for reuse.</p><p> </p><p>For the future, as well as exploring the next phase of the SCAP post-2020, we will consider whether any other measures are needed to address this challenge.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>To provide continuity for businesses in a no deal scenario, the EU Withdrawal Act copies EU legislation into UK law, including REACH, as far as possible. This means that the requirements established through these regulations will continue to apply in the UK. This includes retaining all exemptions that remain applicable, including chemicals used in medical products or equipment. By doing this we would minimise disruption to the supply in chemicals.</p><p> </p><p>While it would not be appropriate to pre-judge the outcome of negotiations regarding the Future Economic Partnership, we will discuss with the EU and Member States how best to continue cooperation in chemicals regulation in the best interests of both the UK and the EU.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK has stricter measures in place for tigers than those required by the EU Wildlife Trade Regulations and by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). Applications for import or export of live captive bred tigers are considered on a case by case basis and need to include full details of the destination and intended use of the animal. The sale of live captive bred tigers in the UK is only permitted where the specimens are to be used for conservation purposes.</p><p>These strict measures will continue when the UK leaves the EU.</p> more like this
