star this property answer text While the Foreign Secretary has not recently discussed this specific issue with his Israeli counterpart, our Embassy in Tel Aviv and our Consulate-General in Jerusalem frequently urge both the Israeli and Palestinian authorities to take steps to improve conditions in Gaza. Every Israeli and Palestinian has the right to live in peace and security. We strongly condemn the recent attempted assassination of Prime Minister Hamdallah on 13 March, for which there is no justification. The UK continues to support the return of the legitimate Palestinian Authority to Gaza. We urge non-violence, dialogue and progress towards a sustainable Hamas-Fatah reconciliation and an improvement in the humanitarian situation in Gaza. more like this

We have made clear, through our Embassy in Baghdad and our Consulate General in Erbil, the importance of protecting civilians and of Iraq's meeting its human rights responsibilities, which includes ensuring the rule of law. We welcome the commitments of Iraqi Prime Minister Abadi to investigate all allegations of human rights abuses and violations, including those committed against minorities, and to hold those responsible to account.

In March, the Minister for the Commonwealth and UN, Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, visited Iraq including the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The Minister launched the UK's Fourth National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security and encouraged efforts to hold Daesh to account for its crimes, build support for survivors of sexual violence and, end the stigma attached to victims of those crimes.
more like this

As Mr Regeni was an Italian citizen, the Italian Government is taking the lead role on his case. We are aware of allegations that the Egyptian security forces were responsible for the murder of Mr Regeni and we urge the Egyptian authorities to consider every possible scenario as they investigate. We have consistently raised our concerns and need for a full and impartial investigation into the circumstances of Mr Regeni's murder with the Egyptian authorities at Ministerial and official levels. We continue to offer our support to Italy and urge the Egyptian Government to cooperate fully with the Italian investigators in order to bring Mr Regeni's killers to justice as soon as possible.
more like this

We continue to press the Libyan authorities to engage constructively with victims and their representatives in their campaign for compensation. In August, the Secretary of State for International Development raised this with Libyan Prime Minister Serraj. In April, I discussed it with Prime Minister Serraj and the Ministers of the Interior, Justice and Foreign Affairs. The violence and instability in Libya represent significant obstacles to the resolution of legacy issues. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is also working with other Government Departments to explore what more the Government could do to support victims of Qadhafi-sponsored IRA terrorism.
more like this

Following implementation of the Iran nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) in January 2016, international sanctions on Iran's oil trade were lifted or suspended and oil exports increased. The US's re-imposition, in November 2018, of secondary sanctions against Iran's oil trade has led to a reduction in oil exports from Iran. We do not, however, routinely collate data on the revenue accrued to Iran from these exports, which is subject to multiple variables.
more like this
