	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/02/2018 answer text <p>The law is clear that interns must be paid at least minimum wage rates if they are doing the job of a worker.</p><p> </p><p>HMRC will make unpaid interns a priority for their targeted, intelligence led enforcement of the National Minimum Wage. This will build upon the work conducted to target sectors and employers advertising unpaid internships online. This is to allow workers to identify any under recording of hours worked, and to encourage them to either raise this with their employer or make a free, confidential complaint to Acas. During a Government consultation we gathered evidence on the benefits and drawbacks of introducing further provisions requiring employers to disaggregate hours worked on payslips, and decided against making this a statutory requirement. In addition we have funded the provision of tailored advice and support through the Sheffield City Region Growth Hub.</p><p> </p><p>This growth hub provides support to businesses across the city region, including Barnsley. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/02/2018 answer text <p>In the Government’s response to the Taylor Review we committed to continue to work with a range of partners including Acas and the Equality and Human Rights Commission to improve advice and guidance on pregnancy and maternity issues so that employers are more fully aware of their obligations and women better understand their rights.</p><p> </p><p>Acas produced updated and comprehensive guidance in November 2017. Government will also update and consolidate the pregnancy and maternity discrimination pages on GOV.UK by summer 2018. To inform pregnant women of their rights at an early stage, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is working with the Department for Work and Pensions so that the MAT B1 form (the maternity certificate which enables a pregnant woman to claim Statutory Maternity Pay from her employer) signposts advice and guidance on pregnancy and maternity discrimination.
