unstar this property answer text <p>Given the role of the Attorney General’s Department, it does not lead on specific projects related to the UK leaving the EU and therefore has not incurred any additional expenditure. None of the Law Officers’ Departments has received direct funding therefore for work relating to the UK leaving the EU. Members of staff across the Law Officers’ Departments provide advice and analysis on different issues as required, and different Government departments bid for funding from HMT to pay for their resource needs, including the services of the Government Legal Department (GLD).</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>HM Treasury has already allocated departments nearly £700 million to prepare for Brexit: £412m for DIT, FCO and DExEU over the parliament at Autumn Statement 2016 and nearly £300m across a number of departments from the Reserve in 17/18.</p><p>At Autumn Budget 2017 HM Treasury made another £3bn of additional funding available over 18/19 and 19/20 – £1.5bn in each year. We are currently working with HM Treasury to determine our allocation for 18/19 with the aim to agree this soon.</p><p>Departmental allocations for 19/20 will be agreed later on in the year and decisions on funding in 20/21 and beyond will be decided at the next Spending Review. This is because requirements in these years will be heavily affected by what is agreed in our negotiations with the EU.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>For all civil servants, including Fast Streamers and SCS, Civil Service Learning provides one-day workshops on Understanding Parliament, which are delivered at Foundation (introduction) and Practitioner (advanced) levels. Both of these workshops cover Parliament’s scrutiny and legislative roles. Dedicated training sessions covering specific topics are also available. These include Introduction to Parliament, Select Committees, Debates and Voting, Pre and Post Legislative Scrutiny, Parliamentary Questions, Delegated Legislation, and Primary Legislation. A half-day workshop is available on producing effective explanatory memoranda to accompany secondary legislation. The Cabinet Office’s Parliamentary Business and Legislation Team provide training to Bill Teams. The Government Legal Department and Parliamentary Counsel run a course on Dealing with Parliamentary Bills for Lawyers, which covers parliamentary stages and handling. Stand-alone events are run, eg during Parliament Week. Bespoke sessions for government departments are available on request.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>The KPMG Civil Service Learning contract provides a common core curriculum of learning for Civil Servants. The effectiveness of the performance of KPMG is assessed through evaluation of the learning provision. Between April 2017 and March 2018, 144,000 delegates have attended 8,200 learning events. Evaluation of this learning suggest that the vast majority of learners felt the learning was effective, and that they expect it to make a positive difference to their performance in the workplace.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to widespread free access to cash and continues to work with the industry to ensure appropriate provision remains in place. Post Office Ltd, in partnership with the Bank of Ireland, provides about 2700 free-to-use ATMs across 2353 branches. There are no plans to terminate this arrangement.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, independent retail partners and postmasters, who operate most branches across the Post Office network, offer about 4000 ATMs under private agreements with independent ATM providers. Continued provision of these machines is a commercial decision for individual retail partners and ATM providers to take. Separately, Post Office Ltd supplies cash to 103 of these ATMs and has given notice to the relevant ATM providers and post office operators of its commercial decision to end this service. ATM providers are free to use alternative suppliers and Post Office Ltd is offering appropriate support in this transition.</p><p> </p><p>99% of personal banking customers and 95% of small business banking customers can also withdraw cash and make deposits over the counter at any post office branch across the country under the Access to Banking Standard agreed between the Post Office and high street banks in 2016.</p><p> </p>
