star this property answer text <p>The government is committed to increasing private investment in infrastructure through a range of models. The 2017 National Infrastructure and Construction Pipeline estimates that almost half of the UK’s £600 billion infrastructure pipeline is expected to be financed by the private sector.</p><p> </p><p>The Budget announced that the government will no longer use Private Finance 2 (the successor to the Private Finance Initiative) for new projects, as the model was inflexible and overly complex. Private finance will not be used for the upgrade of the A303 and the Lower Thames Crossing.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Pursuant to the answer to Question 185590 on A303 and Lower Thames Crossing: Private Finance Initiative, private finance will not be used for the upgrade of the A303 and the Lower Thames Crossing.</p><p> </p><p>The estimated cost of developing and building the Lower Thames Crossing, as set out in Highways England’s public consultation on 10 October 2018, was between £5.3bn and £6.8 bn. The estimated cost of developing and building the A303 Stonehenge scheme, as set out at the Preferred Route Announcement in September 2017, was £1.6bn.</p><p> </p><p>Highways England continue to refine cost estimates as they develop the business cases for these schemes.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>During 2016/17 academic year, provisional data shows the following apprenticeship starts for Mansfield, the East Midlands and England:</p><p> </p><table><tbody><tr><td><p>Mansfield</p></td><td><p>1,450</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>East Midlands</p></td><td><p>47,180</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>England</p></td><td><p>485,500</p></td></tr></tbody></table><p> </p><p>Annual investment in apprenticeships in England will be £2.45bn in 19/20; double what was spent in 2010-11. Treasury ministers engage with the Secretary of State for Education on a regular basis to monitor the Government’s public investment in skills, and the impact it has had on businesses. Since the introduction of the Levy, 86% of employers said apprenticeships developed skills relevant to their organisation and 78% reported improved productivity (Apprenticeships evaluation 2017, November 2017).</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Monthly receipts data for the Apprenticeship Levy is published by HM Revenue &amp; Customs in their Tax &amp; NIC Receipts publication which can be found online at: <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/701149/Mar18_Receipts_NS_Bulletin_Final.pdf" target="_blank">https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/701149/Mar18_Receipts_NS_Bulletin_Final.pdf</a></p><p> </p><p>To date £2.3bn of the estimated 2017-18 liability has been received between April 2017, when the levy was introduced, and March 2018, the latest month for which data is available.</p><p> </p><p>In their March 2018 Economic and Fiscal outlook publication, the Office for Budget Responsibility estimated that the apprenticeship levy liabilities would be £2.6bn in 2017-18. This can be seen at: <a href="http://cdn.obr.uk/EFO-MaRch_2018.pdf" target="_blank">http://cdn.obr.uk/EFO-MaRch_2018.pdf</a></p><p> </p><p>The remainder of the 2017-18 liability is expected to be received in the April 2018 receipts.</p>
