star this property answer text <p>There are frequent contacts, at various levels, between the Ministry of Defence and the Department of Health on areas of mutual interest.</p><p>The Defence Medical Services (DMS) exists to ensure that the Armed Forces are ready and medically fit to go where they are required throughout the world.</p><p>Currently over 90% of DMS secondary care personnel are working in the NHS. The remaining DMS personnel are currently delivering primary care, rehabilitation, mental healthcare, dental care and other medical services to our Armed Forces or their families, or deployed on operations, or preparing to deploy.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Our Armed Forces are rightly held to the highest standards and credible, serious allegations of criminal behaviour must be investigated, in accordance with the Armed Forces Act 2006. Operation Northmoor is an independent investigation conducted by the Royal Military Police (RMP). It has discounted over 90% of the 675 allegations received because there was no evidence of a criminal or disciplinary offence. To date no case has been referred to the Service Prosecuting Authority but the investigations continue and the investigators will follow the evidence where it leads them. The RMP has full investigative independence and the Ministry of Defence has not influenced in any way the scope and duration of Operation Northmoor.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) has robust procedures in place to protect cadets. This includes ensuring that all adults who work with children are required to undergo mandatory security and background checks, are subject to rigorous disclosure procedures and receive regular safeguarding training. We encourage anyone who has been a victim, or knows someone who has, to report it to the police.</p><p> </p><p>The cadet organisations have comprehensive reporting procedures in place to ensure that when they are made aware of an incident it is acted upon immediately; any allegation involving possible criminal activity is reported to the appropriate authorities for investigation. Background checks are undertaken for all Adult volunteers and unlike many other youth organisations, the checks are redone or updated every five years. Whilst each Cadet Headquarters has safeguarding expertise and can provide advice, victims of past abuse are directed to the various professional organisations e.g. the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, who specialise in this type of support.</p><p> </p><p>In the period 2012 – June 2017, 363 abuse allegations were made to the MOD of which 282 were referred to the police. Information on the number of prosecutions would be held by the relevant individual police forces. The MOD does not hold this detail.</p><p> </p>

Temporary portable heaters were provided on 24 January to affected areas.</p><p>No major facilities upgrades are planned at this time. A continuous maintenance programme at Wellington Barracks ensures the site is statutory and mandatory compliant.</p> more like this
