answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/05/2016 answer text <p>Spending on mental health is expected to increase to £11.7 billion and clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) are required to continue to increase their spend on mental health each year.</p><p>NHS England’s published planning guidance for 2015/16 for commissioners made the expectation clear that each CCG’s spend on mental health services in 2015/16 should increase in real terms, and grow by at least the same percentage as each CCG’s allocation increase.</p><p>Detail on planned spend on mental health is captured as part of the National Health Service financial plan returns for 2016/17 with follow up as part of the plan assurance process. Friend, the Secretary of State for Education, asked the Office for Students (OfS) to reform the Strategic Priorities Grant for academic year 2021/22. The OfS consulted on the Secretary of State for Education’s proposals and has recently published its conclusions. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/07/2022 answer text <p>The Innovation in Democracy Programme was a £550,000, one-year joint Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (now Department for Levelling Up, Housing, and Communities) programme that trialled innovative models of deliberative democracy to involve citizens in local decision making. We supported three local authorities (LAs) to pilot citizens’ assemblies, which enabled the LAs to convene a randomly selected but representative sample of residents to deliberate, reach consensus, and make recommendations about a difficult policy issue that the LA had to make. This led to people having an impact on local policy development and delivery.</p><p>The programme ended in March 2020 and work in this field is no longer continuing. We published a<a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/innovation-in-democracy-programme-launch" target="_blank"> publicly-available toolkit</a> for local authorities and other policymakers about how to hold their own citizens' assemblies.
