unstar this property answer text <p>Between September 2011 and June 2014, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) ran a redundancy programme resulting in 12,134 Service personnel being selected for redundancy, of which 10,851 used a billable Career Transition Partnership (CTP) Service. All Regular and Gurkha personnel leaving the UK Armed Forces through the redundancy programme were entitled to receive the highest level of support through the Full Resettlement Programme (FRP) (now called the Core Resettlement Programme). The MOD has no records of any personnel electing to use a lower level of provision.</p><p>The estimated cost incurred through the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) contract to support Service personnel made redundant between June 2011 and September 2014 was £5.2 million.</p> more like this

The Welfare and Duty of Care of all our personnel remains a top priority with continuous activities ongoing to ensure its robust delivery.</p><p>AFC Harrogate has been internally audited by the Army for welfare and duty of care issues since the Ofsted inspection in 2012. It may be of interest to the Honourable Member that Ofsted carried out an inspection of AFC Harrogate in October 2017, the final report for which will be published in the summer 2018.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>Ministry of Defence Head Office directs the use of standard exchange rate assumptions for forecasting 10-year costs across the Department. The full cost of required foreign currency at forecast exchange rates is recognised separately in the Department's budgetary planning process with a provision allocated corporately for the difference between costs at forecast rates and planning assumption rates. This mechanism ensures that the total forecast cost of foreign currency is recognised and managed in the context of the overall financial position of the Department, while allowing individual budget holders to focus on managing foreign currency demand rather than reacting to exchange rate changes.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>I cannot comment on the Airspace Change Proposal for London Oxford Airport. While there has been coordination between the two proposals, the London Oxford Airport consultation is a matter for the Department for Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).</p><p>The Brize Norton Airspace Change Proposal identifies a very wide range of stakeholders, including local aerodromes and representative organisations for the General Aviation community.</p><p>As detailed in paragraph 6.6 of the Brize Norton Consultation Document, during preparation for consultation, a number of meetings were held with key aviation stakeholders. This process will continue throughout the consultation period.</p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) treats all breaches of security very seriously and requires all breaches to be reported regardless of whether there is firm evidence of loss or just an inability to account for some devices. All incidents are subjected to an initial security risk assessment with further action taken on a proportionate basis.</p><p>For financial year 2017-18, the following figures were reported as unaccounted for: - 30 desktop computers, 81 laptop computers and one tablet.</p><p>For financial year 2016-17, the following figures were reported as unaccounted for: - 19 desktop computers, 51 laptop computers and five tablets.</p><p>For financial year 2015-16, the following figures were reported as unaccounted for: - 694 desktop computers, 64 laptop computers and five tablets.</p><p>689 of the 694 desktop computers reported as unaccounted for in 2015-16 were part of a single incident highlighted by an Asset Management Audit. Subsequent investigations suggest that it is likely that the incident was the result of an accounting error, with no evidence that any of the assets were lost or stolen.</p><p>It is MOD policy that all laptops, tablet computers and removable media are encrypted to minimise the impact if a loss were to occur.</p>

unstar this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) pays over and above the National Living Wage that was increased to £7.83 per hour in April 2018.</p><p>The MOD has not formally signed up to the Living Wage Rates, as defined by the Living Wage Foundation. In 2015 the then Secretary of State for Defence agreed that all London-based staff should be paid at least the equivalent of the Living Wage Foundation's London Living Wage rate. MOD continues to pay above that rate.</p><p>Contracted workers' rates of pay, where paid by their parent company or recruitment agency, are not visible to the MOD.</p><p>The MOD does not employ individuals on zero-hours contracts.</p> more like this
