star this property answer text <p>The new e-petitions system has been running for over two years now and the Government is pleased with the level of engagement that it has prompted among the public.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The Parliamentary e-petitions site is jointly owned by the Government and the House of Commons, therefore any assessment of potential changes to the system would have to be agreed between the Government and the House. Individual Departments are responsible for the content and timeliness of responses to e-petitions and the Leader's office has general Government oversight of e-petitions.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Government does place an existing statutory duty on local authorities through the Education Act 2006 (Section 507B) to secure, as far as is practicable, sufficient services and activities to improve the wellbeing of young people. However, in fulfilling this responsibility government believes that local authorities should be empowered to decide how best to secure services that meet the needs of young people within the budget that is available to them.</p><p> </p><p>Government is committed to ensuring all young people can reach their full potential and has recently announced an £80 million investment in the youth sector that is being delivered through the Youth Investment Fund and the #iwill Fund.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>My Department has been speaking to a range of national youth sector organisations to test our consultation plans for the development of the new Youth Policy Statement.</p><p> </p><p>Following this feedback, a formal consultation will be launched. This consultation will be accompanied by a series of events to which national and local youth organisations, as well as local authorities, other statutory commissioners, funders, businesses and young people will be invited. In addition, any organisation or individual will be able to access and respond to an online call for evidence and a young people’s project will support young people to gather key messages and case studies.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>My department has allocated around a third of the full time equivalent (FTE) of a Band A and half of a FTE Band B staff to work on the Youth Policy Statement since November 2016. This has included engaging with young people and the youth sector through a series of workshops. star this property answer text <p>The 2015 Spending Review confirmed that the Department will launch the Work and Health Programme, restructuring our current provision to focus on providing the best possible support for claimants with health conditions or disabilities, as well as those who are long-term unemployed.
