with equality legislation and to ensure it understands how its activities will affect
different people. It provides information about this consideration in various ways.
In the specified period since 2006, this information was sometimes published in the
form of an equality impact assessment. Information about the number of such documents
published by the Home Office is not held centrally and could only be obtained at disproportionate
