star this property answer text <p>Public Health England (PHE), NHS England and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence play a key role in raising awareness of diabetes at national level, while locally this is shared between public health, clinical commissioning groups and individual practitioners. Strategic Clinical Networks (SCNs) also have an important role to play in ensuring appropriate clinical advice to local commissioners and disseminating evidence about effectiveness.</p><p> </p><p>Organisations such as Diabetes UK, Silver Star Diabetes, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists, also play a valuable and important part in raising the awareness of diabetes.</p><p> </p> more like this

The needs of older people with autism, the appropriate and timely diagnosis of adult autism, and the provision of care and support services for adults with autism are also identified in Think Autism and are part of the consultation on the revised statutory guidance for local authorities and the National Health Service which runs until 19 December.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Local authority areas will also report back on progress they are making on implementing these and other issues in Public Health England’s forthcoming national autism self-assessment exercise on implementing the Adult Autism Strategy. 42 Autism Innovation Fund projects totalling £1 million to help support people with autism and share learning for wider replication in other areas were also recently announced.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>NHS England has responsibility for clinical commissioning group (CCG) allocations and, as a result of Government protecting the overall health budget for NHS England, NHS England announced in December 2013 that every CCG would receive a funding increase in 2014-15 and 2015-16 at least matching inflation (based on inflation projections at the time of the announcement).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The most under-funded areas, and those with the most fast-growing populations, will receive more. Access to historic surplus for a specific area has to be balanced against these overall requirements of the health system to deliver within the agreed financial envelope. The use of prior year surplus is only ever available on a non-recurrent basis and the use of such surpluses is controlled by the review of a business case for each application allowing prioritisation to deliver value for money for the taxpayer, and patient.</p><p> </p>
