star this property answer text <p>As set out in the Government’s documents to inform the debate ahead of the referendum, were the UK to leave the EU, as well as losing the UK’s guaranteed access to the Single Market, the UK would also lose the use of the EU’s free trade agreements with over 50 economies worldwide. These countries are listed on page 45 of the Government’s “Alternatives to membership: possible models for the United Kingdom outside the European Union”. This page also provides a map highlighting trade agreements in place, those under negotiation, and those currently being planned for.</p> more like this

These are with the following countries: USA, Japan, Philippines, India, the Mercosur bloc, Morocco and Tunisia. The European Commission is negotiating bilateral investment agreements with Burma and China. star this property answer text <p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p>(1) The appointment of a Chief Executive for the North East Local Enterprise Partnership is a matter for the partnership.</p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p>2) The North East LEP (NELEP) and North East Combined Authority (NECA) have agreed to establish an “Inward Investment Gateway” to manage all inward investment activity. An Invest North East England Gateway Manager was appointed in July last year to provide a focused resource to work with partners to coordinate, develop and implement this work.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>UKTI is providing dedicated resource for 6 months to NELEP and NECA to determine the best options for the Invest North East England delivery model. This will help develop a North East wide inward Investment strategy and implementation plan as well as identify structure, roles, and remit of the NELEP/NECA inward investment team in this important area of the country.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government expects companies to comply with the requirements of the Reports on Payments to Government Regulations 2014.</p><p> </p><p>The Regulations, which came into effect on 1 December 2014, set out the enforcement and penalty regime for any company that fails to comply in part or in full. It is a matter for the company to ensure that it is fully complying with the requirements. On a criminal conviction for not doing so the penalty may be a fine or a term of imprisonment for the directors of the company.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Reports made annually by companies under these Regulations will be published on Companies House website where both government and other interested parties will be able to consider the reports and their accuracy.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government introduced new laws comprehensively reforming the governance and reporting of company directors’ pay in October 2013. Quoted companies are now required to report the ratio of average percentage change in employee pay compared with the percentage change in the chief executive’s pay.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government consulted extensively on the details of the new requirements, and decided not to mandate publication of the ratio between the chief executive’s pay and average employee’s pay.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government welcomes transparency on remuneration, but believes that an explicit focus on this ratio could have negative unintended consequences. For example, it could incentivise companies to outsource jobs to agencies or overseas, or to employ more of the workforce on a part-time basis, in order to manipulate ratios.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong> </strong></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this
