star this property answer text <p>When the Attorney General or Solicitor General is asked to consider bringing contempt proceedings each case is reviewed on its own merits. The Law Officer considering the case has to be satisfied that there is a realistic prospect of proving in the High Court that a contempt has been committed and, if so, that it is in the public interest to institute proceedings. It is important that the Law Officer exercises discretion in this area to ensure that he only brings proceedings where he is satisfied that both the evidential and public interest considerations are met.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Government will use information from a variety of sources and engagement with relevant parties to develop a target that we would expect to see reached by mid-2016. That information includes the Action on Hearing Loss, Sense and RNIB paper (April 2015). We have been monitoring progress of the provision of access services for Video on Demand content since 2013 through engagement with The Authority for Television On Demand (ATVOD), platform operators and content providers. Discussions with those parties are also helping us to understand better the technical challenges in providing such services.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department wrote to recipients of the Low Carbon Communities Challenge (LCCC) grant in 2010 when it became clear that the European Commission considered the feed-in tariff scheme (FIT) to be state aid, and therefore not permissible to be combined with the LCCC grant, as originally intended. Officials offered advice to the projects at that time.</p><p>The LCCC award letter made it clear that any income from FIT payments could only be spent on additional carbon reduction initiatives and therefore not to fund the maintenance costs of renewable energy systems installed under the LCCC grant. Some projects may have received grant funding for activities that are not associated with purchasing and installing renewable energy technologies. Such costs are not covered by the FIT and so can be supported by public grants without affecting eligibility for the FIT under the current rules. We will be issuing guidance that gives more clarity on this issue.</p><p>We will also be issuing guidance for new community groups covering: the treatment of different community ownership models under the FIT scheme; and reaching agreement with a commercial developer over sharing FIT payments.</p>
