	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/10/2020 answer text <p>The Government asked the Law Commission to make recommendations on a range of leasehold reforms, including reviewing current enfranchisement arrangements to make them easier, faster, fairer and cheaper, as well as reinvigorate commonhold and make it easier for homeowners to take control of the management of their block of flats or an estate. The Law Commission reports on the enfranchisement process, commonhold and Right to Manage were published in July, following their January report on valuation. Local authorities make local commissioning decisions based on their specific local needs.</p><p>Government recognises the support that refuges provide for victims of domestic abuse and their children. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2020 answer text <p>The Government has announced that in April 2020 the National Living Wage (NLW) will increase by 6.2 per cent to £8.72 for those aged 25 and over. The Government has also announced inflation-beating increases in the National Minimum Wage (NMW) rates for younger workers and apprentices of between 4.6 per cent and 6.5 per cent.</p><p> </p><p>My Rt. Hon. Friend Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer has pledged that the NLW will increase further, reaching two-thirds of median earnings by 2024, providing economic conditions allow. The Government also plans to expand the reach of the NLW, bringing down the eligibility threshold first to age 23 in 2021 and then to 21 by 2024.</p><p> </p><p>The Government increases the NLW and NMW rates annually with consideration to recommendations made by the independent Low Pay Commission (LPC). 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 01/10/2020 answer text <p>We recognise that LGBT homelessness is an important issue, and that LGBT people who find themselves homeless may have a different experience of homelessness due to their protected characteristics.</p><p>To help us better understand LGBT homelessness and the experience of LGBT people who find themselves homeless, as well as to ensure any interventions are tailored and effective, we are conducting research with the Government Equalities Office.</p><p>The first stage of this research includes a review of existing evidence on LGBT homelessness and interviews with LGBT people with lived experiences of homelessness and the second may include a review of services working with LGBT homeless people. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/09/2020 answer text <p>The Government provided £4.3 billion to help councils to manage the impacts of COVID-19 which includes their work to support homeless people, £3.7 billion of which is unringfenced, and £600 million to support social care. The Government provided a further £3.2 million in emergency funding for local authorities to support vulnerable rough sleepers.</p><p>On 18 July, the Government launched the Next Steps Accommodation Programme, inviting bids for additional funding in 2020/2021 to pay for immediate support to ensure that people housed during the pandemic do not return to the streets, and to deliver longer-term move-on accommodation.</p><p>On 17 September we announced allocations of £91.5 million from the Next Steps Accommodation Programme to 274 councils in England to help vulnerable people housed during the pandemic. An additional £13.5 million will be used to enable local authorities to tackle new and emerging challenges over the winter. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 25/09/2020 answer text <p>As of 31 March 2020, the Civil Service has achieved a total of 2.1 per cent of its total workforce as apprentices against the legislative target for the public sector of 2.3 per cent by March 2021. On 21 September 2020, the equivalent figure for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) was 1.7 per cent. Given this target is a percentage of the total workforce the percentage changes in line with workforce fluctuations over time therefore making it challenging to predict when a Department will meet it. The data for 2019/20 will be released on gov.uk by the end of September 2020. <br> <br>Departments are committed to increasing the number of apprentices across the Civil Service and continue to work towards the 2.3 per cent target. The impact of the current pandemic has slowed recruitment due to priority work and logistics.
