The Palestinian people should be allowed to enjoy their democratic rights - and Israel must allow voting for Palestinians in East Jerusalem, in line with the Oslo Accords. We urge further work towards genuine and democratic national elections for all Palestinians, which is crucial to the establishment of a viable and sovereign Palestinian State. more like this

We have regular discussions with the UN, both in New York and in the region, as well as with the parties regarding the situation in Western Sahara. We welcome the appointment of Staffan de Mistura as Personal Envoy to Western Sahara and UK senior officials have met with him in New York. We encourage the parties, neighbouring states, and international partners to make the most of this opportunity for a renewed political process, including a return to a ceasefire. more like this

We are aware of the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation and urge the Philippines to cooperate. My Right Honourable Friend, the Minister for Asia, visited the Philippines on 7 to 10 October, where she raised our human rights concerns with the Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Teodoro Locsin on 9 October. The former Foreign Secretary raised human rights concerns with Secretary Locsin on 20 July. more like this

unstar this property answer text The UK is strongly committed to full implementation of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) in all its aspects; there is no credible alternative route to nuclear disarmament. The activity set out in AUKUS is not prohibited by the NPT. The NPT does not prohibit the use of nuclear propulsion technology. The proposed submarines use a nuclear reactor uniquely as a power source. Australia does not - and will not - seek nuclear weapons. more like this

To ensure the final report is representative, the study has been extended to include a sample of textbooks introduced for school year 2020-21. Consequently, the study will be completed in early 2021. This aims to support the UN-led political process, and build the foundations for longer term stability, including through mine action, a stronger civil society and a more dynamic private sector. Libya also benefits from programmes focused on supporting vulnerable migrants, improving humanitarian coordination and improving access to mental health service. The UK coordinates closely with a number of international partners, including Italy, who we work with as one of several key donors to Libya, to maximise the impact of our aid programmes and deliver support for the most vulnerable. more like this
