A table showing these figures is attached due to the size of the data. The percentage of referrals agreed as eligible is based on the number of referrals ‘completed’ (rather than ‘referrals received’). Pre 2017/18 data did not use this counting methodology and therefore is not comparable. 2016/17 figures have therefore not been included.</p><p>The NHS CHC appeals process consists of clinical commissioning group local resolution and NHS England Independent Review. It is not possible to provide data on cases found eligible at local review or Independent Review as a percentage of applications initially assessed as not eligible.</p><p>We do not hold information on the percentage of NHS CHC referrals which were assessed as eligible within the requested time periods. NHS England does, however, hold information on the percentage of referrals completed within 28 days, and the latest annual information on this is included in the following table. star this property answer text <p>As outlined in both the NHS Long Term Plan and <em>Investment and Evolution: a five-year framework for GP contract reform to implement The NHS Long Term Plan</em>, NHS England and NHS Improvement are currently undertaking a review of vaccinations and immunisations. The Department would not wish to pre-empt the outcome of this review. Investment and Evolution states that the purpose of the review as being to:</p><p>- Ensure the system incentivises achievement of appropriate uptake rates for immunisations in line with national public health uptake rates;</p><p>- Reduce the administrative burden on general practices by simplifying the system if possible;</p><p>- Clarify what is expected on call/recall for immunisations delivered through the GP contract;</p><p>- Address anomalies in the system that directly incentivise some vaccines but not others;</p><p>- Look at how we deal with outbreaks and catch-up programmes; and</p><p>- Consider whether we extend the list of chargeable travel vaccines.</p><p>A copy of <em>Investment and Evolution: a five-year framework for GP contract reform to implement The NHS Long Term Plan</em> is attached.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has provided the following response.</p><p>The dates each of the registered Child and Adolescent Mental Health Tier 4 inpatient services were last inspected are attached, due to the size of the data.</p><p>The CQC carry out either comprehensive or focused inspections. For National Health Service trusts, these inspections will usually be unannounced.</p><p>In a few instances, where there are very good reasons, the CQC may let a service know it is coming. For example, the CQC may contact a trust to make sure senior management are present to answer its questions.</p><p>To enable the CQC to observe normal practice in a service, it has introduced more unannounced inspections as part of its comprehensive inspection methodology.</p><p>Because the CQC requests information from providers beforehand, it will carry out the inspection within three months of the provider submitting its provider information request. However, the CQC will not announce the day on which it intends to inspect.</p>

No date has been agreed for a further meeting as of yet, however negotiations are ongoing between Vertex, NHS England and NHS Improvement and NICE.</p><p>Cystic fibrosis can have a devastating effect on the lives of those who suffer from it, and those close to them, and the Government wants to see patients access innovative treatments at a cost-effective price for the NHS. The Government fully supports NICE and NHS England in seeking to ensure access for patients to effective and innovative medicines at a price that represents value to the NHS, and it is not for Ministers to intervene in this process. The Department’s approach remains to strongly urge Vertex to accept NHS England and NHS Improvement’s generous offer, but in the absence of a deal, we have asked NHS England and NHS Improvement to continue to explore all options to ensure patients can access treatments as soon as possible.</p>

Since its publication, significant improvements have been made in asthma care.</p><p> </p><p>Respiratory disease, including asthma, is a clinical priority within the NHS Long Term Plan, which aims to improve outcomes for patients through earlier diagnosis and increased access to treatments. The Respiratory Delivery Board will take forward respiratory proposals set out in the Plan by working with key partners.</p><p> </p><p>The National Health Service is supporting the national asthma audit programme which provides data on a range of indicators to show improvements and opportunities in asthma outcomes. NHS RightCare will be publishing an asthma toolkit later this year to support local commissioners and systems in delivering quality care. A best practice tariff for asthma, which aims to reduce variation in asthma care, is also in development.</p><p> </p><p>The current quality outcomes framework indicators for asthma are in consultation and changes for the annual review indicators may include data on asthma control; exacerbations; and written personalised action plans.</p><p> </p><p>As set out in the Long Term Plan, pharmacies in primary care networks will undertake medicine reviews for asthma patients. This will include education on inhaler use and uptake of dry powder and smart inhalers where clinically appropriate.</p><p> </p>
