star this property answer text <p>We have implemented measures to reduce the impact on people caused by the restrictions which have been necessary to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic.</p><p>As already set out we have introduced reuse of previously enrolled biometrics and published guidance on Gov.UK which sets out the applicable circumstances. star this property answer text <p>Due to travel restrictions because of coronavirus, some individuals may be facing uncertainty in relation to the expiry date of their current visa or leave to remain in the United Kingdom. We are taking steps to ensure foreign nationals will not be regarded as breaking their continuity of residence as a result of coronavirus and related travel restrictions.</p><p>Visas for Chinese nationals which were due to expire between 21st January and 30 March 2020 have already been automatically extended until 31 March 2020. We continue to monitor the situation in all countries and we are keeping this under constant review. The Home Office service standard is to answer 80% of calls within 30seconds.</p><p>Last week we answered 77% within 30 seconds with an average wait time of 1 minutes 9 seconds.</p><p>We continue to work with our service provider to regularly review their performance to ensure service standards are maintained. We are working with our service provider to increase the number of staff operating the customer helpline. It is envisaged this will enable the service standard to be met in the coming weeks.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Electoral fraud is unacceptable on any level. There are already measures in place designed to enhance the security of postal voting.</p><p>In response to (the then) Sir Eric Pickles report on electoral fraud, the Government accepted recommendations to strengthen the postal vote system and, in line with our manifesto commitment, we are working to reform postal voting to ensure our elections are secure.</p><p>The Government will look for opportunities to introduce measures that will restrict the handling of postal votes by people who may seek to abuse or subvert them. We will also look to introduce controls on the return of postal votes via polling stations, which has been a cause for concern in past elections.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As part of the 2020 Spending Review, the Government committed a further £63m to the Home Office to tackle economic crime.</p><p>This is in addition to the £10.5m funding the Home Office commits each year to the City of London Police to run the existing Action Fraud and National Fraud Intelligence Bureau services. star this property answer text <p>In law the UK is set to leave the EU on 31 October 2019. “Get Ready for Brexit” is a public information campaign providing the facts citizens and businesses need to know about the preparations they need to take to be ready for when the UK leaves the EU.</p><p>The campaign is a cross-government campaign using national advertising including TV, radio, press, digital and outdoor advertising. It also includes direct engagement and local elements including business preparedness events, ministerial visits and local authority activity.</p><p>The cost of the public information campaign will be published monthly on a rolling basis, as part of routine government transparency arrangements.</p><p> </p> more like this
