Whether any specific health condition was mentioned in each such representation is not recorded centrally and to obtain this information would incur disproportionate cost. Furthermore, the Department has made no estimate of the number of people in England that are subject to prescription exemptions for such conditions. The aim of creating a National Academy is to build an evidence base and promote research into this important area, in order to help the National Health Service become a pioneer for social prescription.</p><p>Following a roundtable with a wide range of stakeholders held earlier this year, the Academy Management Board has been established to help shape the National Academy. The first meeting of the Board was held last month. A range of organisations are represented on the Board. The Home Secretary has appointed Professor Dame Carol Black to lead a major review which will build on existing Government strategies to combat drugs and will examine the harms that drugs cause and the best ways to prevent drug-taking. The report will also examine the drivers behind recent trends such as the increased recreational use of Class A drugs by young adults. The plan is for Dame Carol to present the Home Secretary with a report detailing her key findings and proposals by the end of the summer. The outcome of this meeting will shape phase 2 of the review. Although there has been a small decline in coverage in England since 2013, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine coverage through the routine programme (first dose given at one year and the second at three years and four months) remains high. Public Health England has said that the majority of recent measles cases are in those not eligible through this routine programme. A new MMR vaccine catch-up programme for 10- and 11-year olds that previously missed the MMR vaccine was introduced in April this year. In addition, the MMR vaccine can also be given on the National Health Service to children who missed routine vaccination and adults who may need it.</p><p>In January 2019, the UK Measles and Rubella elimination strategy was published. A multi-agency group has been established to take forward the actions in the strategy in England. Local teams are expected to work with local stakeholders to develop measles and rubella elimination action plans.</p><p>Public Health England monitors vaccine uptake and works with NHS England to increase uptake. This year, NHS England is undertaking a fundamental review of general practitioner vaccinations and immunisation standards, funding, and procurement. This will give greater mental health support to an extra 345,000 children, at least 380,000 more adults and 24,000 more new and expectant mothers.</p><p>The interim NHS People Plan, published on 3 June 2019, sets out that an additional 25,000 staff will be employed in mental health services over the next five years. This includes nearly 6,500 more working in children and young people’s mental health services and mental health support teams in schools and colleges.</p><p> </p><p>The National Health Service will test new waiting times to ensure rapid access to mental health services in the community for those that need it and expand crisis care. The definition for this core service is as follows:</p><p>Child and adolescent mental health services may assess and treat children and young people as an inpatient in hospital. This may be when community-based services cannot meet their needs safely and effectively because of their level of risk and/or complexity and where they need 24-hour nursing and medical care.</p><p>If providers are registering with the CQC as a new provider, the CQC will normally aim to inspect within 12 months of registration. For services that are rated, providers will receive their initial rating at this inspection. The CQC use this initial rating to determine when next to inspect the service.</p><p>For both National Health Service trusts and independent providers, the following principles apply regarding re-inspection (for NHS trusts since June 2017 and for independent providers since April 2018):</p><p>- Inadequate – Normally within 12 months of publishing the last comprehensive inspection report;</p><p> </p><p>- Requires improvement - Normally within two years of publishing the last comprehensive inspection report;</p><p> </p><p>- Good - Normally within three and a half years of publishing the last comprehensive inspection report; and</p><p> </p><p>- Outstanding - Normally within five years of publishing the last comprehensive inspection report.</p><p> </p><p>These are maximum inspection intervals, therefore the CQC may inspect more frequently, particularly if there is a risk.</p><p>The CQC encourages people to share their experience to ensure it is acted upon, including through the national Tell Us About Your Care partner charities.</p><p>The CQC aim to speak to children and young people and their families/carers during the inspection (depending on their availability) and have specific inspection tools to enable this.</p><p>This information is published as part of the inspection framework for NHS acute hospitals.</p> answering member printed Baroness Blackwood of North Oxford question first answered 25/07/2019 16:46:46 answering member 4019 label Biography information for Baroness Blackwood of North Oxford
