star this property answer text <p>Since the policy announcement on the restoration of medals in February 2021, the Ministry of Defence has received eight applications for the restoration of medals. <br> <br> A disregard for any previous conviction is a pre-condition for the restoration of an honour or medal. Of the eight applications, one veteran has obtained a disregard for a previous conviction and has had medals returned. <br></p><p>A number of the other seven applications remain under review in light of the introduction of the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 and potential implications for convictions for which disregards are available.</p> more like this

The Prime Minister has spoken to President Trump, President Rouhani, President Macron, Chancellor Merkel and Prime Minister Abdul-Mahdi in recent days, and will have calls with other leaders in the coming days to encourage de-escalation. It is vital that all leaders now pursue a diplomatic way forward.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>All parties to the conflict must respect the current ceasefire, ensure humanitarian access, and return to the UN-led political process. The Berlin Conference on 19 January, attended by the Prime Minister, showed wide international support for these aims.</p><p>The UK provided £1 million to the UN Flash Appeal in 2019. The UN released $2 million from the UN Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) in 2019 to provide life-saving assistance to civilians caught up in the fighting, including vulnerable migrants and refugees. The UK was the biggest donor to the CERF in 2018, providing £114.3 million.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Education, particularly standing up for the right of every girl in the world to have 12 years of quality education, is a priority for the UK. In Yemen we are supporting education through two global funds: Education Cannot Wait and the Global Partnership for Education.</p><p>Since 2017, Education Cannot Wait has committed over £13 million to Yemen, providing 1.3 million children with safe learning spaces, supporting 1.2 million students in preparing for and taking national exams, and making incentive payments to teachers whose salaries had not been paid for prolonged periods. The Global Partnership for Education has provided over £28.5 million to support education in Yemen since 2013, benefitting more than 400,000 children through improved schooling and teacher training, in particular focusing on ensuring girls have better access to education.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>There were over 75,000 suspected cases of dengue fever in Yemen in 2019, following a sharp rise towards the end of last year.</p><p>The UK is providing support to international NGOs and UN agencies to improve access to health care for vulnerable Yemenis which will be vital to tackling the outbreak.</p><p>UK support includes a £96.5million commitment to UNICEF from 2018-2021 which has already provided 900,000 children with access to primary health care through health facilities, outreach services, and mobile health teams.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK is increasingly concerned by constraints on the international humanitarian response in Houthi-controlled areas of northern Yemen. In line with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2451, we are calling on all parties to facilitate unhindered access for humanitarian actors and ensure that humanitarian workers are able to conduct their work safely and without harm.</p><p>Alongside this, Ministers and Officials continue to engage closely with the UN and other donors to ensure a coordinated approach to improve humanitarian access, that does not jeopardise progress on the peace process.</p> more like this
