star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) does not hold a central record of the origin of all steel used in defence equipment projects. This is because steel for our major programmes is mainly sourced by our prime contractors and the supply chains are complex.</p><p>The MOD does, however, collate some information about the origin of steel for projects with the largest steel requirements. This information can be found within the 'compliance with the steel procurement guidance' document at the following link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/steel-public-procurement</p><p>The data was first published in January 2019 on GOV.UK and will be published annually in future.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The level of funding the Ministry of Defence (MOD) has allocated for mitigating the detrimental effect of offshore wind sites on our air defence radars cannot be separately identified from wider funding that is used to operate and undertake trials with these radars.</p><p>We will continue our work to reduce the effect of offshore wind sites on our radars through safeguarding activity and our existing radar support contracts. We will also continue to conduct flight trials to assess the effectiveness of current and proposed mitigations.</p><p>The MOD remains committed to working closely with industry on mitigating against the effects of the expanding offshore windfarm developments on our air defence and air surveillance capabilities and requirements.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence (MOD) is taking a number of positive actions to make it easier for smaller companies to do business with defence, for example launching sub-contract advertising on our online portal and engaging more regularly with smaller businesses to help understand the challenges they face. We are also introducing new measures to ensure prime contractors' pay promptly and working to improve the pipeline information that we publish.</p><p>The MOD Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Action Plan 2019-2022 was published in March 2019 and this sets out the actions we are taking in more detail.
