	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/03/2024 answer text <p>The Department is taking forward a scheme of work to modernise the NHS Health Check programme, and to deliver on recommendations from the 2021 review of the programme. We are currently focused on the development and launch of a digital NHS Health Check, to be launched later this year, and rolled out nationally over the next four years. Following the launch of a digital check, the Department will consider the evidence for, and practicality of, expanding the scope of the NHS Health Check. This will include consideration of introducing a wider range of clinical checks, and considering a younger target age group.</p><p>Local authorities can design and deliver NHS Health Checks to suit the needs of their local population. This includes who provides the service, and in what settings it is delivered. In some areas, NHS Health Checks are already delivered in community and workplace settings. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 27/11/2023 answer text <p>By the end of the Parliament, core Departmental spending will have increased from £140.5 billion in 2019/20 to £193.1 billion in 2024-25, representing a cash increase of £52.6 billion. That is a 37% cash increase in the Department’s total budget between 2019/20 and 2024/25. This means total health and social care spending will continue to grow in real terms between 2019/20 and 2024/25 by 3.4%, which represents the compound annual growth rate in 2022/23 prices.</p><p>The Public Health Grant will increase over the current spending review period, rising to £3.6 billion in 2024/25. Taking the Public Health Grant together with additional grants for drug treatment and start for life services, the funding that the Department provides to local authorities for public health will grow by more than 5% in real terms over the two years 2023/24 and 2024/25. Moreover, from 2024/25 we are investing an additional £70 million per year to support local authority-led stop smoking services, more than doubling current spend on these services, in support of our commitment to deliver a smoke-free generation.</p><p>Funding for prevention services and for screening programmes is also included in the overall 2023/24 National Health Service budget of £172 billion. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/11/2023 answer text <p>Diagnostic test activity across the 15 test types recorded by NHS England was 25.6 million in the 12 months to September 2023. The data requested for diagnostic tests at six weeks and ten weeks after a referral is not collected by NHS England in the format requests.</p><p>The NHS’ Delivery Plan for tackling the COVID-19 backlog of elective care aims for 95% of patients needing a diagnostic test to receive it within six weeks by March 2025. NHS England aims to increase diagnostic activity to 120% of pre-pandemic levels by March 2025 to support this.</p><p>In the 2021 spending review £2.3 billion was awarded to transform diagnostic services over the next three years. Most of this will help increase the number of Community Diagnostic Centres up to 160 by March 2025, expanding and protecting elective planned diagnostic services.
