They are supported by legal, HR and finance professionals in discharging these obligations. The Cabinet Office and HM Treasury provide a coordination role across such functions and can provide advice and guidance in specific cases.</p><p> </p><p>Direct Ministerial appointments reflect the successive practice of administrations in engaging eminent individuals to provide independent views and advice to Government on specific areas. Such appointments should, by nature, be flexible to the circumstances of the situation and in line with wider public law duties. Appointments are made by Ministers. Appointees must abide by the Seven Principles of Public Life and the Code of Conduct for Board Members of Public Bodies, and should ensure that any relevant interests are declared to the Senior Civil Servant sponsoring their work to ensure that no actual or reasonably perceived conflicts arise.</p><p> </p><p>Departments are responsible for their own transparency releases as they hold the information required to generate them and must take steps to ensure the accuracy of the information. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/06/2022 answer text <p>Her Majesty’s Government is committed to maintaining high standards of conduct and probity, whilst making improvements where necessary to policies and processes which help support this.</p><p>There are a range of mechanisms in place to maintain and drive up standards, including Codes of Conduct (such as the Ministerial Code, Civil Service Code, Special Adviser Code), policies and guidance (such as Managing Public Money), and bodies and offices charged with overseeing aspects of government activity (for example the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments and the Civil Service Commission). The Committee on Standards in Public Life also issues regular reports with ideas and recommendations for the Government and other public bodies to consider.</p><p>I also refer the Hon. It is designed to deter and distract from its barbaric invasion of Ukraine. The Government continues to call on Russia to de-escalate, starting by ceasing its assault on Ukraine and withdrawing its forces.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The UK has well developed contingency plans to respond to a wide range of eventualities. The plans and supporting arrangements have been developed, refined and tested over many years. The UK’s plans are risk-based and built on the principle of generic capabilities which are able to respond to a wide range of events, augmented by specific, niche capabilities, where needed and warranted by the risk. The scale of these capabilities is driven by classified planning assumptions derived from the UK’s National Security Risk Assessment. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/12/2021 answer text <p>We launched an Expression of Interest campaign on 19 October to determine membership of the Domestic Advisory Group (DAG) and Civil Society Forum (CSF). The expression of interest campaign was extended from 9 November until 29 November following requests for an extension from a number of stakeholders.</p><p> </p><p>We received 83 Expressions of Interest for the DAG or the CSF (or both). We are working closely with departments and devolved administrations to ensure a balanced representation of civil society organisations, including business organisations, Trade Unions, NGOs and charities, to represent all four nations of the UK.</p><p> </p><p>To be considered for appointment under this campaign, the organisations must meet the eligibility criteria outlined on the Expression of Interest page on <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/expressions-of-interest-eoi-for-membership-of-the-uk-domestic-advisory-group-and-civil-society-forum-under-the-trade-and-cooperation-agreement/expressions-of-interest-eoi-for-membership-of-the-uk-domestic-advisory-group-and-civil-society-forum-under-the-trade-and-cooperation-agreement" target="_blank">GOV.UK</a>. We have encouraged applications from the widest range of qualified groups in line with our Public Sector Equality Duty.</p><p> </p><p>Successful candidates for the DAG will be informed in the coming weeks.
