This represented 0.64% of the total workforce</p><p>The proportion of sickness absence related to stress related reasons was 11.35% of the<br>overall sickness absence for the department for the same time period</p><p>The estimated cost to the department from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019 for employees<br>taking stress related reasons, is estimated at £199,634</p><p>Cabinet Office sickness absence data is published regularly, and is available up to<br>December 2018 here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/cabinet-office-absence-<br>data</p><p> </p><p>The Cabinet Office wellbeing action plan enables support for all staff’s health and<br>wellbeing. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/05/2019 answer text <p>Where a Government asset no longer serves a public purpose, or that purpose can be<br>more efficiently realised through its transfer to private or non-government hands, a<br>Government Department or Arm’s Length Body may choose to sell that asset</p><p>The disposal of individual sites is a matter for each Department or Body. It is the role of the<br>Accounting Officer to ensure this represents value for money and is achieved in line with the Green Book, Managing Public Money and the Guide for Disposal of Surplus Land.</p><p>Departments are expected to identify land as surplus where it is no longer required for operational<br>purposes. Managing Public Money states that Departments should dispose of surplus sites within 3<br>years. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/05/2019 answer text <p>The National Audit Office investigation into the government's land disposal strategy and programmes referenced 176 sites which were sold since 2015 for £1 or less. Details of each of these sites are already published on GOV.UK in annual Transparency Reports listing all Government land sales. The April 2018 publication reports on sales in 2015/16 and 2016/17. The January 2019 publication reports on sales in 2017/18. The common reasons for sales at £1 or less are:</p><ul><li>sites where costs of remediation (for example, decontamination) are involved;</li><li>sites which are narrow strips of land that have no other use or value; and</li><li>the sale of a lease which contains a clause allowing the purchaser to buy the freehold for £1 after a set period or once certain conditions have been met</li></ul><p>Of the 176 sites disposed of for £1 or less, 160 were owned by Homes England. Homes England inherited a number of sites from predecessor organisations which were not viable for development. Disposing of these is helping to reduce the liability of holding costs for Government.</p><p>Departments disposing of surplus land must do so in line with Managing Public Money and wider disposals guidance. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/06/2019 answer text <p>The Civil Service is committed to being a leading employer on mental health support and to the<br>positive health and wellbeing of all our staff. This includes providing specific support to those who<br>suffer with mental health problems. This approach enables employees experiencing mental ill<br>health to remain in work or return to work following a period of absence and includes<br>recommendations for workplace adjustments and signposting to other mental health services</p><p>The Civil Service has a network of an estimated 4,600 Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA’s) or<br>equivalent who are equipped with the knowledge to recognise early symptoms and provide initial<br>help to colleagues experiencing mental health concerns</p><p>All departments have access to Occupational Health Services, which provide support and advice to<br>managers and employees in respect of mental ill health. The Civil Service also provides access for<br>all employees to Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) or equivalent, for counselling and other<br>mental health support</p><p>In addition, the Civil Service has improved its use of data to monitor and respond to mental health<br>trends in the workplace, raised awareness and enhanced the range of workplace adjustments<br>available to staff with poor mental health.
